When someone dies, often, the additional cost is not something most people have laying around. A family member of mine died unexpectidely and Whitton was the cheapest option for a funeral home. Others in merced were at least $2,000.00 more .. They did a wonderful job at helping me select a casket,flowers and they arranged the church service ( at that time, ALL for a little under $5,000.00, a bargain compared to other places in merced) For this reason, i always recommed Whitton to anyone who has a family die. The only thing i didnt like is when my grandmother died, we told them how she wore her makeup, red lip blush, etc. Come funeral,SHE HAS ON NO MAKEUP! NO LIPSTICK AND ON TOP OF THAT, THEY TURNED HER INTO A BLACK WOMAN. SHE WAS MEDIUM BROWN IN LIFE AND I UNDERSTAND DEAD BODIES CHANGE BUT THEY USED A STRAIGHT UP BLACK FOUNDATION ON HER, DONT THERE PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTISTS KNOW HOW TO COLOR CORRECT? SHE WASNT IN A fire, heart attack death. Plus no lipstick...my thoughts are that her assistant, owners assistant is a woman of color and most likely didnt have much product so she used her foundation on grandma..she was unrecognizable

My family and I are very pleased with the funeral service that we had for our Dad, Uncle and Brother yesterday at Whitton Family Funeral Service.
