We are very pleased with the services Ivers and Alcorn provided us during the time of our loss. I would like to highlight our Funeral Director, Mayra E. Aguilar. She empathized with us since the first day we met her. This was our very first time having to go through this and the care, time, and support she provided for our family was very much appreciated. I cannot express how grateful we are with her.

We experienced several issues with the service provided by Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home during the arrangements for our mother's funeral. These issues significantly impacted our experience during a difficult time: Lack of Communication: Despite our efforts to contact them, there was no communication from the funeral home after they received our mother's body for arrangements. We had to initiate contact multiple times, even visiting in person to schedule an appointment. We only knew her body had been picked up because we contacted the hospital ourselves after unsuccessful attempts to reach Brian/Ivers and Alcorn. Premature Obituary Posting: The funeral home posted our mother's obituary only two days before the services, despite having the information for weeks prior. Errors in Obituary: Despite providing corrections via email days before the posting, the obituary was still published with errors. Corrections were made only after we brought the issue to their attention. Unsatisfactory Presentation of Deceased: We were not given the opportunity to view our mother after she was dressed and made up for the service. Upon seeing her, we discovered she had been heavily made up, with a significantly altered appearance from her natural state. Her complexion was tanned, makeup was applied excessively on her arms, neck, and hands, and her white hair was colored brown without our consent. Lack of Guest Greeting: Guests arriving for the visitation were not greeted by staff, which contributed to a sense of disorganization and lack of hospitality. Failure to Provide Memorial Materials: The funeral home failed to bring or set out the guest book and memorial brochures at the church service, despite having possession of them. Failure to Announce Luncheon: There was no announcement made regarding the post-Mass luncheon at the Vista. We had to personally inform attendees, adding unnecessary stress and confusion to the proceedings. Neglect of Priest: Brian left the priest at the church instead of transporting him to the funeral home as promised. We were unaware of the situation and only found out when a friend helped the stranded priest. Given the multitude of issues experienced, and considering the unprofessional and inadequate service provided, we have decided that Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home will no longer be utilized by our family. We have informed others of our experience to prevent them from facing similar frustrations. Many of our guests also noticed the shortcomings in the service provided independently.

Ivers and Alcorn were very understanding and sympathetic to my family needs. The level of support and guidance throughout the process was more than my family or I could have asked for. Thank you Ivers &Alcorn.
