I absolutely recommend to hire Undertaking Alternatives! My experience with them was beyond expectations and I’ll be forever grateful for that! I’m not one to leave reviews but when someone goes above and beyond as Melvina did, I feel it’s a must to do so because having someone so caring like her, guiding you step by step is something I wish for anyone going through a big loss as I did. Even when going through a loved one’s death is heartbreaking, having someone so thoughtful and empathetic along the process, definitely helps to avoid adding more uncertainty and stress to the situation itself. On February 2024, I went through one of the most difficult times of my life because of my father’s sudden loss and being someone coming last minute from CA to NY due to my dad’s health complications, I had a lot of questions and no idea where to start from when this happened. Melvina not only guided me along everything, she was extremely supporting and accommodating for my dad’s obituary and cremation to be planned and done as needed. If you have any of the hesitation line the ones I had, being this my first time ever going through something like this. I’m leaving below my breakdown about every question or hesitation I had that was either answered or resolved. 1. Quote: Melvina was the only person to provide a quote in timely manner from about 5 funeral homes we called, she provided fair prices, plus she took the time to explain every single question I could possible have and tailored made a quote per our families need. 2. Paperwork: All paperwork was ready to fill out on timely manner to have the obituary the date we chose and she was kind enough to come to us around our schedule and availability despite the fact that was a snowy day. We sat and cover every other detail and clear any question. 3. Payment: pricing was fair and the payment process was not complex, she made it very easy and all paid receipts were given in timely manner. 4. Obituary: the chapel was cozy and very welcoming, Melvina was always available and willing to help with whatever we need from start to beginning. 5. Logistic: everything was planned by Melvina and she followed through and have an update for me at all times, making it seem almost effortlessly but I can say she was on top of everything and that truly help to have some peace of mind when you most need it from the permit, embalming, cremation and even the return of my dad’s cremains to El Salvador. I can stress enough how thankful I am to worked with Melvina, her kindness and warm approach working wholeheartedly so my family and I could go through this transition. Amazing and extremely professional service!

During one of my most difficult times, I was very thankful for the service Mrs. Ward provided. My uncle passed unexpectedly. I greatly appreciated not having to go to the funeral home to handle his final arrangements. I love the fact Undertaking Alternatives will sent someone to your home to assist you.
