First of all, my family and I didn’t even sign with Thompson’s Bayview Mortuary or exchange any monies or confirm any business transactions and I never even formally met the man or any affiliates of this Mortuary because I never stepped foot on their premises. I only had 2 phone calls with proprietor, Arthur Thompson. I told him I was “leaning towards their services” and I told him my father was at the Veterans Hospital when he was still alive. That’s all. My father, a US Veteran, made his Transition nearly 2 months ago. The day my father passed away, this mortuary took it upon themselves to FORGE my name and use my father’s name on their own release form illegally in order to pick up my father’s remains without my or my family’s knowledge or consent. He went on to set up a funeral date and arrangements without or knowledge or consent. And the Vet Hospital actually allowed all this. He called us later that night, while we’re freshly GRIEVING, to tell us our father’s body was with him and not at the morgue awaiting an autopsy as we requested. This place is horribly unprofessional, untrustworthy, and SHADY. Lawyers told us unfortunately that we have no real case or it’s not worth the time or money to shut them down but at least I can write this sincere post of my deplorable experience so others can avoid and beware of this shameful and shady mortuary. My father as a Veteran of the United States Army deserves better. I have, however, submitted a complaint with the SF police, VA Decedent Affairs Police, and the BBB. (There’s still an investigation pending against the Thompson’s Bayview Mortuary).

I was a little nervous about choosing this mortuary based off reviews. But Thompson Bay View Mortuary went beyond our expectations. We went from viewing one loved one to having my husband service in a matter of weeks. Mr.Thompson and Pastor Evens was extremely polite and professional at all times. Mr.Thompson sat with me while I came to set with the makeup artist. Never once rushed us. Every aspect from beginning to end was explained to us and all questions were answered in timely fashion. And I may add my husband looked amazing even before makeup was applied, they grooming was on point. I’m extremely pleased with the serve and I would recommend them.

My experience with Thompson Funeral Home in Sept 1991was going above and beyond the call of duty 100% of excellent services from the first call to laying him to rest, was nothing short of perfection! My brother was tragically murdered! When Mr. Thompson completed his mutilated remains ( head/face) he looked like he was sleeping. He created a miracle on my brother. Thank God for this talented man and his staff🙏
