I did not have a good experience with this company. I fell a few days after my husband passed away. I broke my ankle and was at the hospital for a week and then at a rehab home for 7 was. It was difficult at best to keep in touch with them. They tried to charge me a penalty of $1080. I tried to explain the extenuating circumstances , the lady told me I was delinquent and I had to pay or they would not release my husband ashes.i asked to speak with the director and of they were not available. The girl called me back about 3 pm and told me she had good news that they had gotten the cost down to $320. I paid it under duress. Was that good new? I think it was a total rip off. By the way I'm 80. Decide for yourself.

My husband passed away on June 17, 2024. The home came and took him to just be cremated. The urn was to be returned to me. There were no funeral plans, because he wanted no service. I fell 5 days later and broke my ankle. I was in the hospital for a week then I was in a rehab place for 7 weeks. When they finally contacted me I was told I owed the cremation fee of $1325 plus I owed a late fee of $1080. I explained what happened. I immediately sent a check for $1325. I felt it was only fair that they should waive the late charge due to extenuating circumstances. I agrued my cause and I received a call back later in the day telling me she had good news. They were lowering the late fees down to $320. I didn't think it was fair in the least but they said they wouldn't return my husband. So I paid their penalty. I don't think that was fair at all but you know every thing is all about the money these days. So I did not receive the nice compassion these people are supposed to provide. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Well, during a time of crisis when I experienced an unexpected passing of a loved one, I called different 3 options(businesses) for cremation information, and was lucky to get a very engaging funeral director (Val) on the 1st call to Sumner Voiles. From the body 'pick up' to the end {picking up cremated remains, death certs, etc}, I can tell you the entire way, it was a peaceful, compassionate, & overall wonderful easy experience, really helped to minimize my stress and grieving {and for me; time constraints as I was from another state}. I definitely recommend this company to help you say goodbye to your loved one. THANK YOU, Sumner Voiles!

Hill Funeral Home

217 Pioneer Wy E, Puyallup, WA 98372

At a time when many funeral homes are owned by mega-corporations and listed on the national stock exchanges, Hill Funeral Home is rising above this trend by remaining a local family owned business. Currently operated by 3rd, 4th and 5th generation Funeral Directors, we are proud to be the only family owned Funeral Home in the Puyallup Valley. As other local, family owned businesses have faded away, been bought out or moved on, Hill's reputation for integrity and honesty, and the efforts of a dedicated staff, has allowed them to continue serving Puyallup to this day.
