Just received this flier in the mail which appears to be targeted marketing towards my household following the recent passing of a beloved family member. We did not sign up to receive marketing materials from this company, nor did we elect to use them for any services following said family member's passing. It is obvious from the timing that Smart Cremation does collect and utilize sensitive personal information from peoples' family tragedies as a standard part of their marketing strategy. An absolutely abhorrent, shameful and offensive practice, and an awful way for us to wrap up another day of mourning and dealing with the logistics of a loved one's sudden death. Smart Creation: make better and more sensitive advertising choices, please. To say this is offensive is a massive understatement.

Avoid this company unless you want extra challenges while grieving and for your loved one to be held in a morgue for weeks. An employee - Anna- is disrespectful, rude, and cruel during an already challenging time. She did not send needed documentation, did not attend scheduled meetings, and has cut off communication after being caught in a lie about what is and is not legal and what services are provided by smart cremation. She wasted our families time by having us complete paperwork and an obituary, before pulling the rug out from under us and shunning us completely from the process. For the last week, we have been the only family members in contact, and completed death cert and obituary information. After failing to contact the other family members, Anna promised to move forward to put our loved one to rest and we finalized the information. The next day, she was able to reach a family member, and now says legally they have to be involved, but that we do not need to be anymore since they make up majority, and she has cut us off completely! It is beyond inappropriate and mean.
