If you want empathetic people to help you take care of the loss of your loved one, DO NOT for the love of God choose this poor excuse of a funeral home. We were greeted by Mr. Spry himself with an overly enthusiastic attitude that exhibited the notion that he had zero remorse for the loss of our father. When we were signing papers with him he rushed us through as if he would have rather been anywhere else but there. He continued to make the whole process seem completely rushed giving us no time to process anything. Also, when we were visiting our fathers body before the cremation, Mr. Spry stood in the doorway of the room he was in with his hand on his hip waiting for us to finish our time with him. He gave us zero privacy whatsoever. Then, we were never informed of having programs made, so we of course asked him about having them done. Mr. Spry showed us a standard program they use for everyone. We asked if we could change out the Bible verse they had for something different, and he replied with “well we have 400 funerals a year so we just don’t have time for that.” That’s funny because every time we walked into the funeral home, Mr. Spry was just waddling around doing absolutely nothing. So it seems to me he has lots of time. My family was left to make programs, decorate the chapel, and bring our own speaker for the music due to their lack of updated technology. Thankfully we were able to request that Mr. Spry stay as far away as possible from our family on the day of the funeral. We had the wonderful Mr. Steve take care of us. Anyway, I highly do not recommend this place and Mr. Spry should not be in this profession as he lacks the emotional capacity to have common courtesy for mourning and grieving loved ones.

My sweet Grandmother passed away at 98 yrs in Athens, AL recently. With my Mom no longer with us, and me living out of town, I was referred to Spry. I had no experience planning a funeral. From the day I met Greg Spry, I felt like I was in good hands. He expertly guided me through the process and gave me point-by-point instructions on everything I needed to do. Consequently, I felt that the viewing, service, and graveside services turned out beautifully. This made me proud, and I know my Mother and Grandmother would have approved. Thank you!

My sweet Mother and Husband were at Spry and they were so wonderful. I now live in Tennessee but my stone is right between my Mom and husband. That's where I will be when my day is ended on this earth. I'm certain without a doubt they will be as nice and amazing with me as they were to my Mom and dear husband.
