I could not say enough about how thankful I am that we chose such an amazing funeral home for my dad's farewell. Mr. Westbury and the entire staff are caring, helpful informative and very companionate. It was the hardest time of my our lives but they made it as pleasant as possible. I will always remember the kindness and will always be so grateful.

Losing a loved one, especially being my father, is a tragic and horrible feeling. Losing someone in three weeks of a cancer diagnosis, without preparation is a nightmare . I am appalled by the treatment my family received in planning his arrangements. I understand that our arrangements were bare minimum. My parents do not have a lot and we had to do what they could afford. But the man that did we lost… the father, husband, friend, son, brother, and grandfather, he was an honest working man. He would give the shirt off his back if it were the last thing he owned. He had a heart of gold and he worked harder than any man I know. He did not deserve to be treated as an inconvenience in his passing. From the moment I walked into the room, the gentleman that was in charge of our paperwork never made eye contact with me. He never looked up from his paper at my mother’s sobbing eyes. We were simply another day in his job, another piece of paper work to get through, and seemed to be nothing but a burden in his day. He rushed through every question as if he were filing my taxes. When asked about grandchildren, we told him there were 9 and asked if we should list their names. His response was that with so many, someone could get forgotten so just put grandchildren, because he didn’t want to deal with the time to write out their names. But all 9 of those names lost their papa. All 9 of those names adored their papa. All 9 of those names were the center of that man’s world. As we “rushed” through multiple other questions like a business deal, 12 hours after losing our loved one, I asked if they had my father there. He answered heartlessly, “Yep. Hoping to get this done and get him over to our crematory today to get this done since it’s Friday”. At this time, I was devastated and not in the state of mind to use energy to give my review of this experience. But once the event sunk in, I looked at my husband and went to ask if our treatment was wrong and cold, and before I could get it out of my mouth, he said without a doubt. I understand our jobs become day to day. I understand it was just a routine for him. But I’ve dealt with a funeral arrangement at other facilities and witnessed nothing but compassion and caring. You work in a business where a family is losing thousands of dollars just to say goodbye forever to someone they cherished. If anything at all comes from this message, I hope this gentleman finds his empathy to look in the mirror and ask hisself how he would want to be treated if he lost his spouse, father, or child. How would he be feeling in that very moment that we were in. If nothing else, I pray he rethinks his approach for the next heartbroken family. (I also want to note that the woman that helped us with writing his obituary was the nicest and most patient person I could have asked for. And we thank you for that )

Joe, Ryan, Rudy and all the employees at Sherrell Westbury were wonderful. They took care of everything and made the most difficult time in my life easier to deal with. They went above and beyond what I expected. They have called and contacted me several times after my husband's funeral just to check on me. I could never express my gratitude for the comfort I felt from everyone.
