Funeral was 9/17/2018. I really liked how they let me identify my father at their funeral home instead of the medical examiner. They knew we needed to see him and they did that free for us. Even put makeup on him to look like him for free for just us. They did wonderful with the flowers and what I said to put together. The prayer cards and prayers were good as well. Don't think viewing a person before cremation or burial should be charged during the actual funeral. The broken and shocked look people give when they see just the urn, and not the loved one there for their last view of him is absolutely broke my heart and cannot forget it. I remember it to this day. (I'm sorry family&friends) One other wrong thing they did is publish our obituary for my dad with a huge spelling/punctuation error in the newspaper and on the websites everywhere. That error made us look like we didn't care. Also the picture we gave them, came out horrible when they put it on the obituary. As professionals they should of suggested a new picture. Especially since they had all our pictures for the slide show. Didn't get to choose the music for that either. They need someone who is more tech-savvy than whoever is the one that was doing all the editing in 2018. Still don't have my dad's thumbprint either. The priest/spiritual guider was whacky and did not stay on task of my father. Kept referring back to herself and her stories. We wanted to put him to rest the right way, and her words weren't right at all. Guess we needed a real priest. I still will say thank you to the funeral home. I still respect the funeral home. I just wish they would explain the jewelry part for the ashes and thumbprint, and how to get them after the funeral, because it's a hassle after. Also wish they did their homework with the editing. Thanks.
