The service and care my family received at Oakey's was exceptional. Justin Fix was attentive, thorough, and most importantly, genuine. He deftly coordinated multiple family members across the country when planning the service. Every question we asked was answered promptly and completely, without being patronizing. During the day of the service, Justin's presence was calming and reassuring. I'm truly grateful that Justin was the person who helped us through such a difficult time. Thank you.

Both of my parents passed away years ago (15 yr for my mother, 6 yr for my father), and I worked with Oakey's for the arrangements for both of them -- Downtown for my mother, Vinton for my father. I never thought about leaving any reviews until I read some of the negative ones posted here. The death of a family member is a very stressful time, and can often cause emotions to override perceptions.Unfortunately, it can also bring family strife to the boiling point. All of this being said, I just want to state that I received the utmost in professionalism and courtesy from Oakey's personnel. All of the details were carried out specifically to my requests. My family recently experienced an unexpected death and Oakey’s couldn’t have been more helpful! Another local funeral home refused to pick up his body from the local Medical Examiner’s Office until the arrangements were made and full payment was received. Oakey’s Funeral Home immediately calmed my family by stating that my brother would be brought into their care and we could return the next day to see him and make arrangements. This was such a relief! Top notch service from everyone! The staff was professional and caring, the facilities were immaculate and the cremation process was extremely professional. We were able to add our own personal touches to honor our loved one. Thanks for providing such a wonderful service to our community and the funeral industry.
