I was pleased yet kind of saddened! I was not aware of many things! I was not aware of what I was responsible for and what the funeral home is responsible for! I personally typed up an obituary yet was charged so much to put it on mlive! I was not given an option or was it expressed, as I would have done this myself and saved so so much money! I ordered the biggest floral arrangement and did not receive the biggest! I was also unaware a regular florist is so so much cheaper and you can order from one of them as well! When you have never gone through anything like this, it’s good to know we can order from any floral shops, and not solely depending on funeral home! The flowers were not all fresh and was absolutely not at all worth half the cost I paid! I ordered a “mom” ribbon for the flowers and it was not provided! They provided a minimal homemade one after I made the observation! I asked to pay for things right from the start and was continually told, not right now, take care of it later or the following week! My mother’s funeral took place over a week after her death, I received a book in the mail AFTER her funeral regarding jewelry and fingerprints etc! That was never offered during the original meeting and I’m kind of sad that I didn’t get this option as I’d love her fingerprints as a memory! How awesome! I’d also note that I was under duress during the original meeting as a family member who had no reason to be there was allowed in the room and nobody should be made to feel this way! You should notify only children, spouses and parents (whomever is decision makers) are allowed! You were not aware of family dynamics, but I also should not have to feel the need to feel pressured, or made to do things in such a state of mind with such added stresses when you could have told the extra person (aunt) it’s not her place and to wait outside! I felt so uncomfortable because she was present for the planning and decisions for my mother’s funeral! Overall, my mother was taken care of, the people who love her were able to gather in one place and share memories and love! Thank you!

From start to finish MDK took care of all the arrangements for my Mom's funeral and burial, in a professional, kind, and caring manner. During the visitation they stood close by to make sure that if I needed anything they would be readily available to assist me and my family. Throughout the whole process they showed their kindness and caring to my family and made sure that whatever was requested or needed additionally was done in a timely manner. In 2021, MDK took care of my husband's funeral arrangements which was also handled beautifullly. For this reason I chose them again for Mom and I would recommend them to anyone that wants true caring professional and kind people handling their loved ones at the end of the journey here on Earth.
