Recently, my Mother & I had the difficult task of arranging my Father’s funeral; an experience that filled us with anxiety and uncertainty. The night before our appointment, I couldn’t sleep, overwhelmed by the unknowns of the process, and the costs involved. My Mother needed my support, and despite my own fears, we walked into the funeral home, together. From the moment we arrived at Laurel Land Funeral Home, we were met with warmth and professionalism which made an incredibly challenging day much easier to bear. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed, even down to offering us bottled water. Their kindness and care were evident in every interaction, making the process smooth and comforting. We were given a tour of the entire cemetery, which was beautifully maintained and so tranquil. Though I have rarely visited cemeteries before, the serene atmosphere, and well-kept grounds made it clear that this was the perfect place of respect and peace our loved ones. The Cemetery Director, Earl Anderson, guided us through the options for my Father’s final resting place with great compassion and clarity. He ensured we understood all terms and conditions. Mr. Anderson left an indelible impression on us, through empathy & compassion. We could tell he took his profession very seriously, and everything he does is done from the heart. The Funeral Director, Arthur Mitchell, was equally as kind and professional: Walking us through each step of the arrangements with patience and understanding. Despite the gravity of the situation, I left feeling a sense of peace and comfort, as if we had been discussing everyday matters and during something so significant. In the end, Laurel Land Funeral Home provided us with an experience that was not only pleasant, but also comforting in so many ways. Their exceptional service, and the beautiful environment helped us navigate this difficult time with grace and dignity. The services rendered the day of the Funeral Service was impeccable: The Laureland staff, driver’s, flower bearer, program, and memorial website hosted by Diginity, were top tier and to our highest satisfaction. I am deeply grateful for their support, and I highly recommend their services to anyone in need. My Father is now at earthly peace in such a serene, beautiful space.

My mom went to heaven in July of 2024 and arguably, this has been the most difficult season in my entire life. Within two days, George, Bertha, and Desmond from Laurel Land Dallas met with me had everything set up for us. They were kind, compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable. They understood the vision that my mom wanted and they made the initial process easy and affordable. George and Desmond remained an active part of the process all the way through to the end, offering insight and encouragement throughout. Once my mom passed away (less than one week from completing my pre-need package), I was introduced to my Funeral Director, Mr. Christopher Jordan, who I am convinced is the best FD on planet earth. Working with Chris to plan my mom’s celebration was one of the best experiences I have ever had. He was funny and personable, he truly cared about me as a human being and he exemplified a level of love, passion, dedication, service, and skill that I have never seen in my life in any industry. He listened to my desires, acted as the primary liaison between other vendors (florist, burial cemetery, etc.) and myself to alleviate as much stress as possible, and most importantly, he took the time to walk through it all with me as I navigated the pain of losing my mom. He was patient, considerate, and empathetic while still making sure that we got things done. I know without a shadow of a doubt that he was sent to me by God because every moment I worked with him, I could feel God in it. Chris was attentive, available, sacrificial, and dynamically seasoned in his position. There wasn’t a question that I had that went unanswered, or a request made that went misunderstood. Everything was executed with flawless perfection. Furthermore, Chris went above and beyond my greatest expectations when it came to taking care of my mom. Since she had cancer, I didn’t know what she would look like, having lost so much weight during her battle. I tried to mentally prepare myself for whatever I was going to see when I saw her for the first time in her casket. As I entered the room, all fear and anxiety were completely eradicated by the beautiful work of art that Christopher created. That man is a bonafide artist. My mom looked so beautiful and natural that I chose to keep her casket open during her service. Everyone commented on how amazing she looked. She was gorgeous… glamorous even…and she didn’t look sick at all. She looked like her normal self… as if she was just asleep. Even though a few weeks have passed, people are still talking about how great she looked. Apart from preparing my mom, Chris helped her service to stay on track and in a moment that I will never forget, he held my hand as we closed her casket together for the final time. He comforted me as I let her go and nothing in the world can compare to the way he made me feel as he supported me in that moment. After the service was over, we returned from the cemetery to sit down in the Lobby for a moment and get out of the extreme heat that is Texas in July. We were greeted by Cornelius and Chameron who gave us cold water and spent time talking to us about our experience with Laurel Land. They helped us get our things into the car and shared stories that comforted my family and I when we needed it the most. They made us feel welcome and gave us words of wisdom to take with us as we moved into this new phase of life. Talking to them made us feel like we were all family. It gave us that much needed push to know that things were going to be okay. Christopher even took it a step further by contacting me the day after my mom’s service was over, to check in on how I was doing and get my thoughts on how everything went. I will never forget the way that I was treated at Laurel Land Dallas. The entire staff, including Mr. Cato and Terry W. who also assisted with my mom’s service, are second to none. They are all consummate professionals who operate in excellence as a team, and I would recommend partnering with them to anyone who will listen.

Tina at the receptionist desk was absolutely amazing!! She not only was personable and welcoming but she also made me and my family feel like family. From the start of us walking through the door full of emotions she went out of her way to assist us. Her infectious smile and her amazing sense of humor brought us joy along with her mothering character bringing a sense of peace during our chaos. The entire staff not only takes time to personally bring forth a vision for your loved one but they also made the sure to hear us out, give transparency and respect. This experience was able to ease our anxiety of the inevitable funeral arrangements. Thank you Mrs. Tina and staff for providing exceptional care and support for us. We will surely do our part and spread the awareness of this organization bringing life to our community during our time of grief.!
