All the staff were very professional and kind. Rick is amazing and very compassionate. They explained everything including all options and it didn't matter to them how long it took or how many times we changed our minds. The only thing I would say is for the ladies that do the makeup to learn how to do it for all ages so that a young person isn't made to look old. (I understand that they will never look the same, but that's not what I'm referring to). Ask to see your loved one before the service so that way if there needs to be any changes made to the hair or makeup, you can do it sooner. But otherwise, they were all very accommodating.

As a family we trusted Gabaldon Mortuary to handle some of our hardest aspects of grieving with compassion and understanding. Unfortunately our experience fell incredibly short. This will detail our terrible experience in hopes that someone else doesn’t have to deal with a similar situation. We do not feel our experience can be rectified as we cannot get that time back. During the initial process with David Sanchez, we were blown away with his shear lack of professionalism and lack of empathy for our family. He was arrogant and cocky in regards to cost and gave us little information other than “our numbers are right because they’re done by computer how you divvy up the cost is your problem”. In the midst of grief the last thing you want to deal with are the arrangements for a loved one and Mr. David Sanchez sure did his best to take advantage of our families emotions through this process. In retrospect we should have gone somewhere else however when you are grieving you’re not necessarily in the right mind frame to do so. Although our mother was closed casket, we still wanted her to be buried with dignity. To us this also meant that they would view the picture we gave them and to the best of their ability make sure she looked similar to the photograph (makeup, hair, etc). To our horror during our families last private viewing of her, her hair wasn’t done and makeup wasn’t applied. Her lifeless body sinking in areas without support yet we were charged $300. During the rosary Mr. David Sanchez insisted on visiting our immediate grieving family in the front row for the last $20.00 that was owed to him. In the middle of the rosary, he had the gall to ask for the money. He couldn’t wait until the end or better yet he could have asked before the rosary had started. We trust these businesses with our most private affairs and to be so disrespected and for things to be handled so unprofessionally is truly disappointing. Mr. Sanchez proceeded to make the church service difficult by giving everyone the incorrect address for the reception. During this short time he seemingly couldn’t muster compassion in even the simplest of ways. Each of our family members requested crosses to be blessed by the deacon, 6 in total however one short because he didn’t have it noted. Our paperwork reads 6 but the arrogant Mr. Sanchez couldn’t admit to that. $7,850 was the cost of arrangements for our dear mother. We’ve never felt so disrespected nor such a lack of compassion given for a grieving family. Mr, Sanchez should work on having compassion for people and running a legitimate business that doesn’t balk at people for being concerned about where there money is going. To him it was another day another dollar. To us, it was saying goodbye to all we’ve ever known.
