This is a long review but worth a read to know what you're getting. I was referred to this funeral home after my mother's passing as they are apparently the only funeral home in that county to handle indigent cremation. My mother's BOYFRIEND misrepresented himself as her husband and had started the process as I am not local in that area. Once he realized he couldn't legally take care of things he handed it over to me. My mother was still at a different physical location. I was in touch with where she was and the funeral director there gave me the number to eternity and said to tell them it was urgent. On Dec. 1 I called Eternity and asked to speak with Pam, the lady that deals with the indigent program. I was given her direct line by the very kind woman that answered the phone. I called Pam with no answer so I left a message. After about a hour of not receiving a call back, I called again, and again, and again, and again over a few hours until I finally got a very agitated Pam on the phone. I spoke to her and explained the situation about my mother's boyfriend misrepresenting himself and how I am the one needing to take care of this. After about 5-10 minutes of her answering my questions and trying to get off the phone, I had more questions to ask as I was starting from scratch. She informed me that she would send me paperwork. I asked that they be emailed to help expedite the process. She said absolutely, she would email them and did state that it wouldn't be that day but sometime the following week. I gave her my email address and phone number. I gave it over the weekend and into the following week and did not receive an email with the paperwork or a phone call. On Dec. 6, I called Pam again and surprise! No answer so I left another message about 1. Not receiving the paperwork yet and 2. Paying for a direct cremation. TO THIS DAY, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK!!!!! It's incredibly disgusting. Then to find out, on Dec. 8 my mother's boyfriend, who again had no legal authority to do anything, was in contact with a woman named I believe Michelle about my mom and I was never personally contacted and again TO THIS VERY DAY 12/20 nearly 3 weeks after our first phone call. I was warned about this place and how they "do not care" and with my personal experience they do not, especially this Pam lady. The county needs to reconsider their contract with this place and/or someone else a little more competent needs to be in charge. No need for a call back at this point, everything has already been taken care of and I was able to travel to the area and get my mom last week so she could be home for Christmas and I am incredibly grateful for the director at the other funeral home. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND ASK OTHER HOMES IF THERE IS ANYTHING AT ALL THEY CAN DO TO HELP, you may be pleasantly surprised and you as well as your loved one WILL absolutely be in better hands!

My nephew passed unexpectedly and his body was sent to Eternity without our knowledge or approval. We had to wait for his remains due to issues between the medical examiner and his primary. The funeral home initially helped out but then when it was time to send home his remains for his planned funeral, they sent it a day later than what they said and his remains were sitting at a post office distribution center for 2 day which is against the federal law. His remains finally were home less than 21 hours before his service. We ordered pendants which the info given verbally and written stated the funeral home will out his ashes in the pendants. Today we received the pendants and a bag of his remains. My sister and great nephew who just her son and his father were expected to put his remains in the pendant. What is wrong with the funeral home to expect a grieving family to do that? My sister put her son’s remains in each pendant then we had to spread the rest of his remains on his grave. This is unprofessional, rude and plainly disheartening that Eternity would even do this. Shame on you!

We live in upstate NY. 2 weeks ago, our youngest daughter passed away suddenly. I can't tell you how kind and competent Michelle and her staff were. They took care of everything for us, even shipping the cremains up to NY so she can rest with our entire family here. You can't find any better service in all of Jacksonville.
