Our experience with the Cremation Society of the Carolinas was frustratingly bad, mostly due to poor communication. We were not notified that the cremation had taken place, despite calling repeatedly to request an update. Don’t bother leaving your name and number, as they never return calls. We spent several weeks waiting for an urn to be “delivered” that they already had. It took a while to receive the death certificates and their estimates on when it would arrive were way off. There were also only 7 when we had explicitly ordered 12. There was an error on the certificate that was unfortunately discovered several months later. I went back only for them to suggest that it would be better for me to request a change myself. I rarely leave bad reviews, but most of these problems could have been resolved if someone had simply taken 5 minutes to reach out. The staff were nice, but they seemed disorganized and clueless about what was going on. The funeral director was always busy or absent, I only saw him once or twice. Their lack of communication exacerbated an already difficult and stressful time for us, especially since it was our first time navigating this process. They didn’t respect our time and gave us what felt like a constant runaround. I really hope that this is not the standard for such services and would not recommend this place to anybody.

I highly recommend Cremation Society of the Carolinas for their warmth, professionalism, and transparent pricing. John Paul, in particular, went above and beyond to help me navigate some unusual circumstances with care and prompt communication. Unlike a previous funeral home that was overpriced and patronizing, the Cremation Society of the Carolinas offers genuine support and integrity during a difficult time.

This was some of the absolute worst customer service that I have ever encountered. No one ever returns phone calls. No calls over the weekend. No one could answer any questions for us during this difficult time. When time to pick up our family member, someone had edited his death certificate and his name I now spelt wrong, the answer we recieved, was a deep sigh and "well you approved it" instead of an apology or let me help you fix it.. then he proceeded to put my brother down on the coffee table like a bag of groceries, instead of presenting him with dignity. All while in the lobby, no private area, no consideration. Absolutely not 1 single in person apology for our treatment during this whole process. We weren't even offered a obituary. Not an ounce of personalization for any type of service. Didn't meet a single person until pickup. When anyone asks in the future about my brothers services or any asks of cremation services, I will speak on this... each and every time. I will in no way lift this place up.
