Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery was built on a foundation of faith, dignity and tradition. Calvary Hill Cemetery, located at 3235 Lombardy Lane in Northwest Dallas, was established in 1926 by Bishop Joseph Patrick Lynch when it became apparent that Calvary Cemetery (on Hall St.) was no longer adequate to serve the needs of the growing Catholic community in Dallas. The new cemetery, which includes the original Letot family cemetery, was dedicated on All Souls Day in 1929. When Calvary Hill Cemetery opened, a Priests' Circle was established for the interment of members of the clergy and many were relocated from Old Calvary. In 1966, the first of several mausoleums was dedicated by Bishop Thomas K. Gorman, including a chapel for committal services and reflection. In 2009, the remains of former Bishops of Dallas were entombed in the chapel. In 1998, the Diocese contracted with Christian Funeral Services, Inc., an affiliate of Service Corporation International, to operate this cemetery (and the other thee diocesan cemeteries) for the Diocese. In 2002, Calvary Hill Funeral Home was built adjacent to the cemetery. The facility features four staterooms, a hospitality room, a comfortable chapel that will seat 150 people and cemetery offices.

I am so devastated to hear that my son's plot that he paid for was sold to someone else. Ms. Maritza Aguilar, Assistant Sales Manager assured us that my son's plot was fully paid for. This is not right as no one can seem to return his call to give him answers. When asked to speak to Ms. Maritza Aguilar, we were told that she no longer works there. A message was left for the manager to call us back and nothing. There has been a lack of communication within the business of the funeral home. We have several family members that have been laid to rest there going back more than 20 years. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Rather someone is not paying attention or just not communicating with valuable customer that has done business with this cemetery for decades. By the grace of God this has to be made right.

I like to visit different malls and for the opposite reason...cemeteries, where I can unwind, spend some quiet time and pray. This Calvary Hill Cemetery is under the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. Therefore, the whole place is consecrated by the Bishop. It is a holy ground. My guess would be that Liturgical Services are held here on a regular basis. I was surprised that there were so many fresh flowers offered on top of hudreds of headstone that they seem to look like they were growing live from the ground. After surveying the area, it made me think and realize that i too will be buried like them. I just never know when. It therefore inspires me to do what i can to spend my remaining time now in a worthwhile manner.

My mom bought a policy back in 2016 at the time of my brother’s passing so that she could be buried next to him. The lady at the time names, Cecilia was very helpful very passionate, very professional, But she no longer works there. They were quick to collect upfront and be professional But now that my mom is in hospice and we’re trying to get information about her burial status, what all was paid for? I can’t get anybody to answer the phone and when they tell me they’re gonna call me back they never return phone calls. This is very unprofessional if my mom didn’t already have paid for this, I would already burying her somewheres else, but unfortunately, it’s her choice. We have to go with it, but I will not go through this again.
