When my friend asked me to accompany her to set things up for her passing, which we knew she would be facing soon, I wondered why she chose to drive from Bend to Prineville to work with Whispering Pines. I was actually I bit concerned that when the time came for me to pick up her ashes I would be too emotional to safely make the drive, having recently dealt with all of the steps involved when both of my parents passed away in Bend. As soon as we met with them I was so struck by their genuine warmth and support that I was fully on board with her choice. I don't have the words to express what Kathy O'Neal meant to me when the time came for my dear friend to pass away. I did not feel alone in the process this time. Kathy was so kowledgable and willingly offerred her hand from beginning to end, making things flow so smoothly that I was able to relax as she oversaw things. I don't know how she does it, as she made herself available whenever I needed her, and even made trips after hours to Bend to make sure things went well for me and the young son my friend had to leave behind. In any situation where we had trepidation, Kathy was there for us, taking on the steps that we were hesitant to deal with. As for my initial concern regarding picking up the ashes, Kathy took that right out of my hands, making the trip for us to Bend. She even followed up on filing the 2 life insurance policies, notifying social security, etc. I knew exactly what was going to happen & when things were completed, & never had to be concerned that I was dropping the ball because she took wonderful care of every aspect. I cannot thank Kathy enough, and I highly recommend that others come to Whispering Pines when the time comes to show their loved ones their final expression of love & respect.
