Mike is amazing!!! My sister passed unexpectedly, was way too young, and was really hard. A down payment was made in what was owed, and Mike worked with us in making payments. Mike did not press us for when or how much each payment would be and didn't put any extra pressure or stress on us in that way. He was so kind, caring, and empathetic! Mike is the best FH director I've ever dealt with, and I would highly recommend him to everyone who God forbidden needs to!! He did such an amazing job laying my sister out, dressing her, and styling her hair the way she always wore it. With all the family and siblings, we couldn't view the body until 7 pm on Friday and ended up staying until 830pm until the family was done saying their good byes. We appreciated him for probably staying way later than he should've for us to get our time with her before her body was forever gone. His prices aren't high, and we got a lot more than we got when our parents died with a different FH at a lesser price, and she was treated with more dignity. Mike was so accommodating and lovely!!! He took a lot of stress off of the family during this difficult time, and the place is really nice inside! Not only is it really clean, but it smells amazing and is decorated beautifully! The prayer cards, services, urns, and things of that nature he provides exceeded our expectations!! I can't thank Mike enough for how he helped our family during this difficult time! What an amazing person Mike is...I can't say enough great things about him and what he did for my family and sister!! Thank you for everything, to Mike and the crew that stayed for us to say our goodbyes. You all have special places in all of our hearts for your services and kindness, and we are forever grateful!!! 🤍🤍

Michael Ferrell is an excellent example of someone who helps make a devastating situation into one that is filled with care & truly makes you relaxed & calmer and able to deal with the death of a loved one. Michael even went out of his way by getting up in the middle of the night and personally picking up my loved one from the nursing home. We met with Michael and Pam and they patiently listened, cried and even laughed with us as we talked about our loved one and described his life. Szal is a business, and we understand that there is a cost when using their services, however, Michael never brought up any fees. I could feel that was not the most important thing to him at this devastating time. Michael's concern was for our loved one and our family and it was obvious and genuine, and we felt it. Michael waited until we asked about costs and then gave us fair and honest prices. There was no upselling and absolutely no pressure. I pray that anyone reading this will not need these type of services anytime soon, but if you do, call Michael at Szal's Funeral Home.
