Recently Matthew Funeral Home handled the wake and funeral of my mother Luz Captain. The entire staff were absolutely wonderful. From the moment of pickup from my mother's home to her final resting place, my mother's remains were handled in a very dignified and respectful manner. My family and I were treated professionally and with compassion and care as if we were members of their family. Though my mother had a pre-plan in place, reviewing everything and finalizing the details with Chris DeLuca, was stress free and he provided the care and attention that we needed at a time when we were the most distraught. There was nothing that could not be done for us. He made it all happen. On the day of the funeral, Gerard and his pall bearers were fantastic. From the sealing of the casket to the funeral Mass to internment in Evergreen cemetery, the respect and care that was shown for my mother's remains and my family was incredible. If I were to sum up our experience with Matthew Funeral Home in a few words it would be respect, compassion and care. Cannot express my immense gratitude and appreciation for how human the staff and owners are. Although my family did not officially utilize the funeral services here, when my father passed away in 2022 his ashes were shipped from California and for whatever reason the folks who cremated him did not seal the urn so that it would be ready for burial in New York State per the guidelines of the law. When I called around to various funeral homes in my area Matthew did not hesitate to help me out. Not only did they arrange for me to come in with the ashes at my convenience, they refused to charge me for the service which I was not at all expecting as funerals can be notoriously expensive. My family and I much appreciated being alleviated of the stress both mentally as well as financially and I would certainly recommend this funeral home to anyone in need of those services, their staff is absolutely amazing and treated me so very kindly. These are the truly amazing people that indeed make the world go round, God bless them. 🙏✨

There aren't enough stars or words to express how wonderful everyone at Matthew Funeral Home is. Every member of staff was kind, respectful, and supportive during the entire process of planning my father's memorial. They were so understanding of the difficult time and unusual circumstances (my father passed away overseas - which ands an additional nightmare layer to the process). Chris helped my brother and I plan the details of the day, guiding us through a process neither of us had gone through before. And on top of all the staff being exemplary, the facilities are modern, tasteful, and comfortable. We opted to rent the catering room in between the two services and the room was just as comfortable and the staff just as helpful and courteous. I also love that they're still independent and family owned - a rarity and something worth celebrating and supporting.
