My fiancé, Steve, passed away on Monday, 27SEP21, due to Cardiac Arrest, and I called 911 and provided CPR, but was unable to save him. I was invited to the "pre-funeral meeting" by his sons, under the premise, it was the ACTUAL funeral, which was planned and arranged 1.5 hours away from me. I did not choose this Funeral Home or the arrangements. His two sons did, as the business is related to Celeste Wages (Strand), their late Mother. The Funeral Home Rep, Andi, told me "not to tell the bank, holding our joint account (Steve and Jennifer / Joint), that Steve passed away." Red Flag, right? I was presented with the funeral bill, and the eldest of Steve’s two sons, Mitch, told me to sign it, and “we’d” work out the finances later. I refused to pay on the spot, indicating I needed to do some research. Wages indicated that I was just the “Sweetie”, not his legal wife, but I was required to pay the entire bill from the Wages Business for his funeral. I excused myself from the meeting. Please note, Steve’s late wife’s family was present at this meeting, and “Wages” is the last name of his late wife, Celeste. In requesting 1/3 of Steve's ashes from Cory, his younger son (Marine Corp), as we previously agreed to split the ashes three ways (Mitch, Cory, and myself), and a container with 3 separate containers was chosen to divide them three ways. I was never given my portion of Steve's ashes, after several requests. Steve also indicated to his sons and I, that were to split his assets 3 ways. But this was verbal, and his sons didn't honor their father's wishes. I am not concerned about this, as it wasn't in his Will, but it does speak to their character. Cory cussed me out via text for not paying the bill; that I shouldn’t leave it to the “Kids”, explaining that it was his late Mother’s “Family Funeral Home”, and that I have the funds to pay through the joint checking account. I was forced to block both of his son's communications, which is a shame, as there was no tension prior to this conversation. I’ve gathered advice from two different lawyers, who both indicated I was not responsible for the bill. They advised to block the families’ numbers, as I was harassed by The Wages, and his living grown sons, as well, indicating they weren't going to share his ashes with me, as agreed to prior to the funeral. I have two harassing voicemails from Wages Funeral Home (Valerie Wages) saved on my phone. Valerie also harassed me at the actual service, as well. Completely unprofessional and inaccurate legal info given to me; felt like my late fiancées family business set me up, and tried to take advantage of me. I reported this activity to GA State Board of Funeral Services. Their reply was, "At their February 8, 2022 meeting, the Board voted to address the issue with the respondent." The Wages business was Disrespectful, and NOT Trustworthy. Terrible experience overall, especially after losing my fiancé. I still have the harassing, pushy voicemails on my phone. If you wish to hear them, please contact me. "SCAM ALERT" now on Wages Webite. Seriously, the funeral home will and has called for payment. Valerie Wages VMs saved...contact me if you wish. Beware of this "Family Business"!!

From the moment we called Wages after the unexpected loss of my daddy, we felt very cared for. The professionalism that Andi showed us exceeded all expectations. She was gentle in helping to guide us as we made decisions. Every interaction with her was very heartfelt. She sought to know the kind of person my dad was and helped us to honor him well. The mortician did a beautiful job presenting my daddy. Everyone we came in to contact with was genuine and helpful. We held a visitation and a service at their facility. It was very comfortable, and they accommodated every request we had. They helped us to prepare a slideshow and showed it during the visitation. They also allowed us to compile a playlist and they played the music over their speaker during the visitation. We felt like we were in such good hands. Elliot was particularly helpful at the service and beyond. If we could give 10 stars, and Andi a raise, we would! No one plans to plan a funeral and in those moments when we could not comprehend the loss, she was so compassionate and helpful. We felt like Andi was someone we could trust and every time we called, whoever we spoke to made us feel in very good hands.

My father in law passed away recently and we chose Tom Wages to handle all the arrangements and let me just say if we could give them a 10 star rating we would. The staff here is amazing and truly genuine to your needs handle the circumstances flawlessly. They took an extremely tough experience to go through much easier to handle and were all very compassionate. Andi was amazing and very heart felt and Donna as well! We will be forever grateful for your staff and how they helped us in such a trying time. I highly recommend if you want your loved one treated with care as well as you yourself you can not go wrong with this facility.
