Hello, My mom passed away and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. Right from the very beginning when they came to get my mother, they were extremely respectful and very compassionate, caring. Our funeral director, Josh was absolutely amazing! My family and I are so grateful for the hard work and compassion and respect. My mother was treated with respect and dignity the whole time she was there. They all worked hard to help us plan and make arrangements. They absolutely blew us away! Everything turned out way better than we could ever imagine! You guys truly love your job and you made this whole experience a little easier and made us feel like family. My mother looked absolutely beautiful! I know she would be so proud and happy with how everything turned out. She would of been so grateful and would definitely appreciate the respect that you gave her. I was able to lay my momma to rest without one single regret. My heart is so full of love for all of the Stillinger family and our amazing funeral director, Josh. My family and I are so very grateful for all the hard work and respect and compassion from start to the end. We can't say enough about Stillinger Family Funeral Home. They are simply amazing and some of the greatest people you would ever meet. Thank you guys for everything. We really do appreciate all that you've done. Sadly my family’s experience here left much to be desired. After my grandmother’s passing, my mother felt pushed by the individual that helped us plan her services to opt for embalming services despite expressing she was not interested. While he was still very caring and gentle, it all felt rushed. The “viewing” was in a sort of conference room (her casket was in front of a counter with a microwave on it), someone in the room adjacent to us was banging things around and moving items quite loudly, disturbing the peace and last moments with my grandmother, and finally, another employee was in the middle of preparing another funeral service before we had even left. Burying (or cremating, in my grandmother’s case) a loved one without having them embalmed first is not unfamiliar to us. Previously, at another funeral home, we opted out of the embalming process for another loved one and did not feel rushed at all, but rather that we were being accommodated. Perhaps they don’t have the necessary technologies to preserve a body for longer than a few hours? To put it into perspective, my grandmother passed away at 1 in the morning, and the “viewing” was at 3:30 pm. All in all, although nothing was disrespectful, my family and I felt that we were an afterthought and were simply rushed into a time slot in between their other services, definitely not made a priority. While I understand that COVID-19 has made such practices much harder to work around, I still felt as though we did not get an empathetic experience here and I definitely would not recommend this business to anyone whose loved one passed away and they are looking for a pleasant send-off.

The folk at Stillinger's were beyond helpful. When my father died, our finances were very limited. Judy, Shawn, Jeannine and all the rest of the staff couldn't have been more compassionate in our time of need. Judy Fuller even went out of her way some weeks before my father's passing to help me through a number of legal documents to ensure that Dad had the best care and that his wishes were met. These are some truly wonderful people. They have even stuck with us for almost a year after Dad's funeral to help get his grave marker and other burial logistics handled with care. I will always be grateful to the good people at Stillinger's.
