Our experience with Moloney's was mixed, and unfortunately, it wasn’t without some significant disappointments. The funeral home itself is stately and well-appointed, offering a dignified atmosphere for services. The intake employees were professional and very solicitous, which made the initial process smooth and reassuring. However, the funeral director did not quite match the polished demeanor of the intake staff, which was noticeable during the proceedings. One of the most frustrating aspects of our experience was the ongoing issue with their audio equipment. During the service, the microphone malfunctioned, and the overall audio quality was poor. To make matters worse, they were not adequately equipped to troubleshoot these issues, resulting in a service that did not go as smoothly as it should have. This wasn’t an isolated incident; we encountered similar problems during another family funeral just a few weeks prior. If clear and reliable audio is crucial for your services, I would strongly recommend bringing your own equipment. While Moloney's offers many positive aspects, the repeated technology failures left us feeling disappointed during a time when everything should have gone smoothly.

My family and friends have always used a funeral home based out of West Sayville for our wake and funeral needs. They're a smaller operation, but we've always appreciated their dedication, respect and the fact that you can tell they genuinely care and they're just plain good human beings. Unfortunately, a dear friend recently passed and as we waited at the cemetery for the priest to arrive, it became obvious that the priest was seriously delayed for some unknown reason. Turns out that he had car problems. To be honest, I think our procession was relieved that the final prayer would be issued by someone we love and respect, the representative from the funeral home. I am not promoting one company over another, nor do I wish to steer anyone from Maloney's Funeral Home. But as I consider the failing health of a parent, as well as my recent experience, I understand how important it is that everyone is comfortable with the funeral home, it's representatives, and their character. Recently, I learned that Maloney's has issued a public statement addressing an event in which a co-owner and an additional employee went down to Washington DC where they assaulted police officers and military veterans. Within this public statement that came over three years after these two Maloney's representatives assaulted local and federal officers who were military veterans, and 7 months after their arrest, Maloney's stated that Peter and Conor Maloney "have fully transitioned away from involvement" within the family business. Personally (again, this is my personal opinion), I think that's great. But then I consider how they allowed Peter Maloney and Conor Maloney to issue a statement within that press release and immediately after stating that they had "fully transitioned away from involvement" with the family business. This seems to me like wanting to have their cake and eat it too. Naturally, I ask myself why provide these alleged felons, who allegedly assaulted some of our finest citizens, a final word immediately after staining unequivocally that they had "transitioned away from any involvement" with the company. I've called Maloney's to voice my concerns. Unfortunately, the response I received was "thank you for voicing you concerns". They apparently were grateful for my concerns but they didn't address them. Based upon other Google reviews that have replies issued by the owner, I am certain that the current management and owners of Maloney's will see this post. I'd ask that Maloney's now publicly reply to these very legitimate concerns. Again, I emphasize that I am not promoting one business over another nor directing patronage to one establishment over another. Simply as a potential customer/client in the near term I am asking Maloney's to publicly address the concerns that I, and I am certain many of you, have. I look forward to a timely, non-confrontational, and direct response from the current ownership and management of Maloney's Funeral Homes. Thank you.
