Resthaven is an incredibly beautiful cemetery! My father, being from Des Moines, had preplanned and prepaid for his funeral through Resthaven, though he was living in Minnesota and passed away here. From Tiffany Taylor, our first point of contact, through Andrew Wegener, our funeral Director, and all the others we met at the funeral home/cemetery, things could not have gone much better. The only “issue” that we faced was the Minnesota vs Iowa “complication.” But thankfully, that is where Resthaven came to our rescue, and they handled everything for us. It was so much less stressful, so much easier and less complicated (for me) than I had dreaded! Andy and his team took care of everything. They contacted a priest to conduct the service (Fr Ludwig was an amazing match for our family and we bonded immediately!) and lined up military honors, including a 21 gun salute. Everybody made everything easy for us. They were sympathetic, but not morose, supported us, laughed with us, guided us, and made sure everything was as it should be. With the funeral home, chapel, and reception area right on the cemetery grounds, and a delightful catering option available through Resthaven, the location and beautiful setting could not have been more pleasant or convenient. Dad was laid to rest in peace. His family and friends left with profound peace in our hearts.

The funeral director kept in constant communication with me when planning my loved one's funeral services. If there wasn't something I wasn't sure about, I would call and leave a message. My call would be returned promptly by the funeral director. If you have any questions, ask. If you have a special request, ask. The funeral director knows that this is a difficult time for you, and they will do their best to make the arrangements to honor you loved one.

Andy was very helpful for us - he guided us on what we'd need to do to our Mom after she passed. The funeral space was cozy and comforting, the slideshow he made of our Mom brought me to tears, and the pastor he contacted to officiate the funeral did a fantastic job. I would only suggest you remind anyone you work with to make sure their devices have enough storage if you want a video of the event.
