Where do I start with this tragedy of a place. I was doing a transfer to honor my husband’s side of the family that couldn’t make it to the service where he was at. Every phone call was about money. Which literally pissed me off. Every time I tried to call the lady named Marquetta she was either not in yet, on another call, or at lunch. And I never got calls back unless “it was about money”. My funeral director here also had trouble reaching her for days. She had no problem calling me to let me know that she forgot to tell my funeral director that they charge some kind of tax. Like that has nothing to do with me. My funeral director pays them out of the insurance. Not my concern. I wanted to get my husband cremated there but once they couldn’t tell me where they were taking him and gave me a run around on that, I demanded my husband be sent back with me and cremated at home. At viewing, there was a dirty hand print on the inside cushion and his hands were uncrossed. This may not matter to people but it mattered to me. I just had a beautiful ceremony at home so I wanted the exact same thing in Chicago. I asked for these thing to be fixed. Day of funeral, they tried to clean the cushion but never fixed his hands so I did it myself. Also, I NEVER got any phone calls about when my husband landed in Chicago and was in there care, no call when he was be transported to other facility for viewing, no call about when he got on the plane. Communication SUCKED! In the book they had the wrong information so I had to get that fixed before flying back out. This experience was horrible and no compassion for these final days. As I stood there at the front desk looking at ALL those names in the screen of received, in process, and completed, I cried because how dare you treat people like this when they are going through this horrible life event. They are burying a loved one. I wish I could give a zero so I could say the only reason I give a one is because of the gentleman that helped me get the American flag folded for the service. He at least displayed compassion with his voice and actions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE EMPLOYEES GET SOME TRAINING ON CUSTOMER SERVICE WITHIN THIS FIELD OF SERVICE. I WOULD DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

RUN from this place!!!! They picked my dad’s body up from Burbank Rehabilitation WITHOUT A SIGNED RELEASE or consent from any of us and bc we chose not to use their services, they are holding my dad’s body hostage until we pay them $500 for doing absolutely NOTHING!!!! The funeral home we decided to use tried to go get his body from L&S and they refused to release him bc they said we owed the $500 for picking him up from Burbank which is 15 min from them!! The phone calls were non empathetic and all they talked about was money, money, and even more money. I wouldn’t let them bury my dog. This place is trash and I suggest yall use another funeral home for your loved one!!! 🤬🤬🤬

I’m so disgusted with this place! My mother in law was cremated here and my husband and his brothers were “suppose” to be the ones making the arrangements per instructions from insurance but because one of the brothers is from Chicago and the others are scattered they let him take over and he had all rights and say so. He end up not letting ANY of the other brothers be able to come and get the ashes so my mother in law sat at Leakes for an entire year! And remind you he didn’t want them either! We constantly called and begged for my mother in laws ashes but they refused. Finally they said yes. We made arrangements to come get them and they ended up releasing them to his aunt instead who kept them and she decided not to give any ashes to anyone! So all the sons are without! Just selfish and I would never respect a place that causes this much damage and turmoil to a family that is trying to just have some kind of closure!
