Recently engaged Tom Steinbauer for the second time in about four years. Tom is very responsive, takes care of details, is professional yet compassionate. In a difficult time for family it is comforting that Steinbauer is there and attentive to our wishes. Thanks

Steinbauer handled my brother's wake and funeral with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. Dan was our point person and could not have been nicer to work with. He made home visits to my parents as we were planning, he showed extra compassion to them, and handled everything the way we asked. The staff worked with us on any special requests we had, welcomed in an abundance of food that was dropped off for services, and (Dan)stopped by my parent's home after the funeral. Several years ago, Tom Steinbauer handled preparing my grandmother who was driven to Chicago for her services. She looked absolutely beautiful, getting her to Chicago was handled very professionally, and he was so kind to our family. Tim, in addition to Tom, also did a nice job with details the day of the wake and funeral for my brother. We were very happy overall.

RUN RUN RUN, I would NOT recommend this Funeral Home to ANYONE. I’d give zero stars if I could. Tom Steinbauer failed my deceased grandmother and her entire family. Mr. Steinbauer had the duty to ship my grandmother’s cremated remains to a Veteran’s Cemetery for final burial. The date was preplanned for months in advance. We were assured the ashes would be shipped to arrive at the Cemetery, so we could lay her to rest next to my grandfather. We all gathered at the cemetery to say our final goodbyes – but there were no remains. It was a funeral with no body! Tom Steinbauer made my grandmother (who was never late to anything) MISS HER OWN FUNERAL. My grandmother was not there! We do not get to lay her to rest. The situation Steinbauer created is unbelievable, completely unacceptable, negligent, and unforgiveable. For the rest of my life, I will wonder - is my beloved grandmother REALLY buried next to my grandfather? Did her remains REALLY make it to the cemetery? The one thing I do know for certain, is that IF my grandmother was laid to final rest, it was with absolutely NO family present – the shipment did not arrive as scheduled, thanks to Steinbauer’s negligence. This may be just another day in the business, but to us, it was our only chance to lay her to rest and say goodbye. She did not deserve this… her dying wishes were NOT honored. Tom Steinbauer must be so worried about the lawsuits involving Swirl Wine Bar, that he failed the simple arrangement detail that should have been on his schedule for months. I know my grandmother would be turning over in her grave if she knew of Steinbauer’s (lack of) service… however, for the rest of my life now, I cannot even be assured that my grandmother is IN her grave.
