It was the middle of the night and based on reviews, my brother chose Kersey Funeral home to take care of our mother who unexpectedly passed away. Despite our grief, the day we went in to discuss plans for our mother’s funeral, we were in awe of the beautiful, picturesque, and over 100 year old home facing a gorgeous lake. We knew our mom would be proud of the selection of my brother chose. We were welcomed in so graciously and shown to one of the lovely rooms to wait for someone to come and help us make arrangements. We were tenderly greeted by Mr. Shawn Jackson. Our mother wanted to be cremated and Mr. Jackson accepted our decision and gave out options and explained the details of each package and which were most often selected. Once we made decisions he did not try to upsell or add on things that were we did not need. We did not expect our mom’s passing so we were in an extremely fragile state of mind and Mr. Jackson did not take advantage of the situation. He was so kind and offered us advice on options of how to preserve our mother’s ashes that would be in our budget. I personally feel that Mr. Jackson took care of us as if we were family and made sure were that we had no worries while we were there concerning our mother’s funeral. The room where our mother’s funeral took place had a large picture window that overlooked the lake. I know that my mom would have been staring out that window the whole time we were there. The room was very large and accommodating. It felt warm and inviting. The staff was gentle and welcoming. They asked if we needed anything. They talked and were genuinely interested in the crafts that our mother made that we brought to share with everyone. The service was beautiful and well planned. We can’t thank you enough for the care and attention you have shown us in a most difficult time.

My mother died unexpectedly and from the first phone call, our funeral director, Shawn Jackson was caring, respectful and very patient with our family. He guided us through the entire process, made helpful recommendations for the service and urns. He provided a letter so that the airline could change my flights and I could return home to my family quickly. He was available to us for whatever we needed. As we wrap up this experience, I feel blessed and grateful to have chosen Kersey Funeral Home to take care of my mother.

Jennifer has been there through the years for my parents, my husband's parents and other beloved relatives. She is kind, patient and compassionate. For such a difficult time in our lives, she is very helpful and knowledgeable with her guidance on how to finalize arrangements without pressure. The whole staff there is the same. It is very comforting to know that through the years Kersey's has not changed their high standards. We also appreciate their follow-up to see how we are doing and offer online support to handle our grief.
