Jon, Ashley and staff at Heritage are very professional and compassionate. They were so kind and caring during a difficult time for me and my family when my mother passed. They continued to reach out on my mother’s birthday and Christmas to check on me. I highly recommend them and appreciate everything they did to make our family feel cared for during that time.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. My family has used Heritage Funeral Home for DECADES for MANY family members who have passed but this last time was an absolute (ongoing) nightmare. From the beginning the communication was poor and the wrong information was given several times about burial procedures and arrangements. We opted for a simple burial with a vault and initially were told that it was not possible. Rather than simply saying "I am not familiar with this request, let me find out and get back to you" I was simply told it was not possible. This led to a delay of several days as we tried to find other arrangements. After inquiring with another funeral home, we learned it was absolutely possible. Rather than pay a ridiculous fee to have my father's body moved across Bay County, we opted to move forward with Heritage. A decision I will regret for the rest of my life. Fast forward to the day of the graveside service, Heritage employees arrived with my father's body in the back of the hearse. They then proceeded to ask my grieving family to help move the body into the vault! THIS WAS NOT DISCUSSED BEFOREHAND. To all of our SHOCK, they rolled my father out of the back of the car on a slab of OSB and a cardboard covering over his body. We then had to watch as the employees and my grieving family members struggled to move the body out of the car and onto the equipment used to lower the body into the ground. It was absolutely disgraceful how my father's body was handled. We are ALL traumatized from these events, and my grandmother has been prescribed anxiety medication from watching her DEAD SON be handled like a takeout meal. It was absolutely horrific and the images will NEVER leave my mind. This incident has caused a HUGE rift in the family as it was my responsibility to handle the funeral arrangements. I expressed my frustrations to the OWNER who claims the young lady who handled our case was new and inexperienced. He asked what could be done to "make it right" and I asked if he would be willing to contact my grandmother and explain how they failed as a company to deliver on what we agreed upon and offer his apology to her personally. He assured me he would and notify me once he had done so. He then offered me a PARTIAL refund since the professional funeral services I paid for were not provided. He STILL has not contacted any of the family to take responsibility for the trauma his company inflicted on my family. No amount of money could EVER make this situation right. But the continued lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable.
