Our experience with Greenlawn East was fantastic! My husband had planned every detail for his own funeral but Taylor Smart walked us through every step of the process with professionalism and kindness. From beginning to end she took excellent care of us, provided everything just as we wanted it. She has everything it takes to be the very best at her job & she does it all with Grace! We spent very little compared to most funerals & we never felt like she treated us differently than any other customer. She's the best, we highly recommend Taylor & Greenlawn East.

Ultimately, we got what we wanted for our father's services, but it wasn't easy. The first thing they tried to do was convince us to bury my father at a different cemetery than the one he expressly requested (Springfield National Cemetery). Stating that they haven't done a burial there in a long time and they didn't even know if it was possible (luckily we had already done the legwork to get the pre approval so we were not phased by this tactic) and how nice this other veterans cemetery is. It's was really odd how opinionated they were about it since they don't know my father or us at all. I was unimpressed that they were not able to play a YouTube video I created and had to burn it to a physical DVD and then the music to a physical CD (they had to do this as I no longer own computers with older tech like that). I would recommend some internet connectivity ability for these kinds of visitation media for future families. During all of this they also referred to my sisters and I as "controlling", to our faces on the day of the visitation. I guess because we made our own visitation flyers (theirs were very cheap and impersonal), video, and music. I would call it 'us doing a bunch of work they should be doing and still paying for it' but that's just me. So I guess that's what you get at Greenlawn for trying to advocate for what our Dad wanted for his body and celebration of his life. I think if you don't have many requests and want a very traditional funeral this place is fine. The facility is very pretty and the fish tank in the lobby is big.

Unless you work here, you're usually not here for a happy reason. it's a very comforting place to be though. The staff is accommodating and overall I'd say it's a great place for a sendoff my heart goes out to you and yours if you ever have to be here. *PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEXT COUPLE OF PARAGRAPHS! We were in a funeral procession which was split up several times by drivers who failed to notice all the hazard lights following the hearse. I will say I was pleasantly surprised because 90% of the people we drove by were respectful, they pulled over and let the procession pass, even if they were traveling in the opposite direction. I figured I would use this view to educate whoever reads it on the Missouri laws concerning funeral processions. If you see a hearse driving with the hazard lights on and there's a line of cars behind it, you're supposed to wait until the last car with the hazard lights passes you. If it's on a two-lane road you're not allowed to pass the procession, if it's on a four-lane, you may pass. If you turn into the middle of a funeral procession, you are subject to up to $100 fine. Funeral processions are allowed to drive through red lights if the lead car drives through it first and they have the right of way. In fact a funeral procession has the right away over every vehicle except for emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens on. The video I have provided shows two people who cut into our funeral procession first to become angry until one considers the fact that many people may just not know better. Now if you've read this review, you do know better please be polite you don't know if the car you're cutting off is the deceased daughter, father, mother and I know that you wouldn't want anybody to treat your family that way.
