I will start off by saying my brother's body was prepared exceptionally. The programs were beautifully done and Kevin was very kind, which was why I almost didn't write this review. With that said, just two days after my brother's funeral, Vincent Brown yelled at me and my mom, cut us off whenever we tried to speak and repeatedly claimed that the preacher and organist that he originally vouched for and hired were not his responsibility. He angrily spat that he had done us a favor by not charging us for asking to start the funeral 30 minutes later. On the day of my brother's service, there was no other funeral and when I asked if it was okay if we started around 12:30P instead of 12, I was told that it wouldn't be a problem and never advised of any charge or inconvenience. Moreover, the pricing list I was given after signing the contract doesn’t have a fee listed for late start. My family also never held it against Vincent that we waited over an hour and a half for our initial meeting when he forgot about it and had to have one of the funeral coordinators come up to meet us. Either way, we were still a greiving family trying to respectfully bring forth our concerns and Vincent treated us with less respect than you would a rat on the street. The encounter left me emotionally raw since my mom and I were forced to live through Vincent's berating because he had my brother's body in his possession and we feared retaliation. In initial talks, Vincent seemed okay, but once he got our business, he didn't treat my family with care, respect or Grace. As for the funeral starting at 12:30, we actually started closer to 12:15 and my family was not done any favors when the Preacher and organist hired for the service completely failed to do their jobs. The preacher didn't do an invocation, didn't read scripture, and didn't read the obituary, even though these were all listed on the order of service that I had worked on with a Grace adviser. The preacher also had a notably hard time pronouncing some words like "memoriam." The pronounciation wasn't a big deal, but I couldn't help but think, "why didn't he Google these words beforehand?" If he couldn't read the obituary, I could have. Had I known. The organist that my mom explicitly said she didn't want from the beginning, but who Vincent insisted he was adding as a just in case only to instruct his coordinator to book without speaking with us only played a little when we walked in and never again. The organist did not cover the song I requested (something I asked if he could do prior and was not informed he couldn't do, so I could switch up the order of service to remove the performance). He didn't even play anything in place of the requested song. Instead, the song was just played on the speaker in the middle of service. My family did not want that and didn't receive proper communication to make our own decision about it. When we brought up all the things missing from the service, we were told we should have spoken up at the time, which is true, but we were told that Grace and the Grace coordinator would take care of us and act in our best interest, which means we shouldn't have to worry about the funeral's order of service while trying to grieve our loved one. The service also had a heavy element if rushing (in addition to the preacher skipping all his parts). I would find out later that they only block off two hours for a service including the viewing time. If I could have paid $200 or even $500 extra not to be rushed on the day and have extended time to properly honor my love one, I would have paid it. It was never communicated and presented as option. The last thing I wish would have been communicated is that items put on or around the diseased are considered contaminated and we can't get them back. I put my brother's actual jersey and pants on him. If I knew this beforehand, I would have kept the jersey. We had planned to shadow box all his jerseys. We almost loss my brother's hat and glasses as well, but the coordinator did get those back, which I really did appreciate.

My father-in-law passed in February. It was a difficult time but expected due to his failing health. Called around and found this wonderful place that made his passing an easy and beautiful process. Mr. Brown, Vannassa and the amazing staff here made it a beautiful experience during this difficult time. With or without life insurance it's affordable. Highly recommend their services for all your expected or unexpected end of life needs. Thank you for all your kindness, caring, compassion and understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate you greatly.
