Very poor performance from the team Georges did not fulfill funeral duties paid for Live steaming of my beloved brother’s funeral was included in package, payment was made but no video was recorded and the office said that they were sorry and will refund the amount that was paid for the live steaming How can this happen? What kind of service is this? Georges should be held accountable for this kind of costumer service and the family needs more answers and compensation for such a terrible mistake It’s sad enough and painful to bear the pain and suffering of our beloved brother but not being able to look over the funeral procession and viewing the funeral with family members who were unable to attend is another tragedy We want some answers and justice from Georges funeral business because if they can’t live up to their promises then they should close down

7 Thousand dollars for a simple cremation? They did an excellent job with my mother in 2011 I give them 5 stars. My father was last November and the new owners are nothing like the original family! I actually received a call from Scott indicating they would not be processing my father until they were paid! After contacting Ray Massey they began processing him that day! I later found out Federal law does not allow them delay processing. Then Scott changed his story~ Sketchy at best.

I was asked to create a review by George Funeral Home & Cremation Center. I first started making stained glass in 2010. I apprenticed and eventually was paid for my work. In that time I helped make a good number of church windows that have been installed in ares like Statesboro and little tucked away spots in SC. Yet nothing was more rewarding than being tasked with actually designing my very own piece to be installed in an, at the time, unknown to me, funeral home in Aiken. The design was chosen, and the work began and was eventually completed. Unfortunately life changed a lot, I got a full time job, ran out of extra time in my day, and I was never able to see the window installed or ever even knew where it had gone. The photo of the not yet completed window is all I've had to go on for all this time. Imagine years later to my absolute awe, it had gone to a funeral home smack in the middle of downtown Aiken. It's been a moment that has made me proud for years, but I still, despite driving through there weekly at this point, had never seen it in person. Yesterday I took a chance and finally decided to swing by. To see my window in person in the chapel was an incredibly humbling experience. Up to this point, I felt proud, felt a little edgy that of course my design was at a funeral home, and mostly just pleased. To stand under it took me down a peg in a lot of good ways. I imagined all the people who had been through that room in 10 or so years. I thought of people who have probably focused on it during a sermon or wistfully gotten lost in memories and temporarily left the room through that window. I thought of my own time spent in funeral homes (especially the frequency in which I went as a kid in FL) and the comfort they can bring. It sure meant a lot to know it's being loved, and no matter how many designs and pieces I make going forward, this, my very first official design for another person/group of people, will always be so special to me 🥲

Shellhouse Funeral Home, Inc. and Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, Inc., have consistently been chosen as the best funeral homes in Aiken by readers of the Aiken Standard since 2006. The business was started in 1993 and is owned and operated by the Shellhouse family of Aiken, SC. Beginning in 2002, we acquired Rivers Funeral Home and it became Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, Inc. For peace of mind of families who choose cremation, Shellhouse - Rivers Crematory offers Aiken's only on-site crematory at our East Pine Log Road location. Bethany Cemetery was purchased by the Shellhouse family in 2000. The cemetery was founded in 1892 and much of Aiken's history lies in the plots and tombs within the grounds.
