Well not sure who you spoke to, but I don't have a sister and no my feelings are that this poor excuse for a family business was in poor judgment. I would never recommend anyone taking their loved one for a final resting place here.

In October, we lost our beloved Paw Paw. We decided to host his services here, and it was a terrible mistake. We requested a minister and police escort, as standard services to honor our loved one. Despite the fact that we had a lengthy visitation before the service, we weren't informed that the minister decided to bail until 5 minutes before the service was set to start. We asked for more time to prepare a speech or select readings or something, but were unceremoniously hurried into the area. It's hard for grieving people to think on their feet, so we muddle through the best we could. The ceremony was over after 5 minutes, which meant the police escort wasn't there yet. However, they were ready for us to leave the building, and carried all our stuff out to prove it. We had to drive without the escort, which meant battling St. Tammany traffic. I don't remember so much as an apology for what happened to us. Our grandfather deserved so much better than the way he was treated by this funeral home. I would never, ever recommend that anyone subject themselves or their loved ones to this kind of treatment. Go anywhere else if you want to be treated like a human being.

Fielding Funeral home was wonderful to work with when my mother died 20 years ago. My nurse grandmother, my father and I were all very pleased. This week I heard from a dear friend of the over and above personal care her family received from Fielding in transporting her mother home from out of state for her services. Their excellence in compassionate care is longstanding.
