If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was given a form to fill out for my sons ashes, and on the form I filled in where it asked what type of urn, “wood” urn. I came in when told my sons ashes were ready and when I picked his remains up and brought him home, my place smelled like a strong dead odor, on top of the urn being cheap and dirty, literally had black smears on it. I called and the young lady apologized and told me to come in right away to fix the issue. They had me wait for manager and let me tell you Tom the “manager” is the most unprofessional, rude, incompetent person that I’ve ever dealt with. He didn’t like me calling the urn cheap and immediately gave me attitude, and started raising his voice at me. I matched his energy. He not only made fun of me because I couldn’t say “urn” correctly, he belittled me, and screamed on the top of his lungs to kick me out. My wrong was assuming that my son was going to be in a wooden box as what I filled out on the paperwork THEY sent me. It was not my fault they didn’t communicate with me about it. After that, another staff member calmed me down, pulled me aside, and even told me his behavior was disrespectful. She gave me all the information of who to contact and talk to about this. And get this, the owner Stephen had the audacity to lie to my sister in an email and said this was all my fault and I was the aggressor. Just wait until the video comes out because I recorded the whole incident. And if it was my fault, why would your own staff come to me to apologize for his behavior and tell me Tom was disrespectful I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DISGUSTING PLACE. They have no sympathy or respect for anyone grieving let alone a grieving mother who lost their son.

There are not enough words to express our family's gratitude to Tom and the Staff at Duggan's Funeral services for the efficiency, The care and respectful attitude in which our family was treated, listened to and helped in our time of need... My husband passed away in Southern California and Tom made it possible for us to bring him back to the Bay Area within 3 days of his passing to help our wishes to have him respectfully lay to rest on that Saturday due to Religious Beliefs. We are deeply grateful.

Based on a recommendation I selected this funeral home for my mom’s services . I should’ve known based on the first phone call and in-person encounter to turn around and select another place. I was frozen in grief and wanted immediate relief so I moved forward . I will say that Zachary and an older gentleman were kind and sensitive during all encounters. I actually wanted to ask for Z for all phone calls. I dreaded having to speak with the female receptionist, name unknown. The female receptionist is simply rude and unprofessional. Her attitude is disgusting to say she works at a funeral home. She lacks proper mannerism and empathy for a family’s grief. I’ve already told my family to not have any dealings with this place upon my death. I definitely will not return for any other family member that I may need to make their final arrangement. I expected better mannerisms, sensitivity and compassion for a person making arrangements for their loved one, especially a parent. Spent close to $10K for services to make an already difficult time feel even worse.
