I’ve always been the one to attend funeral services here so I never had to experience the other side of it, until recently. When my father passed, we decided quickly that DeYoung would take him into care. Since the start of the process they were responsive, respectful and did very well at explaining the breakdown of pricing. We were very sure about our needs and they never pushed us into buying something extra. When we decided to have a service at the church, they even coordinated that. The staff of De Young Memorial Chapel were professional, empathetic and very organized. It was a pleasure working together for a beautiful memorial for our mother. It had a “ woman’s touch «  that made a difference.

So many caring and supportive things the team did that let me feel so much care! I can’t name them all, although the one that touched me the most was the laminated book marks with my journal entry and the response from my husband. So very grateful and touched deeply. I’m in tears right now as I write about this! Thank you so much! Mae and the whole team were so supportive to me. I would call it protective of my wishes. They treated me with so much honor, respect and kindness. I really can’t say enough about them despite this horrific experience of losing my husband of 44 years! I was completely devastated! Mae and all the ladies made it happen. I’m so sorry I can’t remember names because the young lady who was always in the front deserves a special mention. She made the book markers for me. Also Mae always gave the team the credit for all they did for us! Tells a lot about her!!
