E. P. Mahar and Son Funeral Home, Inc. is a third generation funeral home in Bennington, Vermont, having served the communities of southern Vermont for over seventy years. Founded by Edward and Olga Mahar in 1935, they established a business that has become a mainstay and a pinnacle of service in Bennington for over seventy years. In 1959 Edward and Olga's son Alex joined his parents in the family business and became President when the business was incorporated in late 1960's. Today the funeral home is owned by the third generation of the Mahar family, Alex's son John and his wife Trisha.
