Thank you to the staff of Chapel of the Light for supporting me from the beginning to end for my husband's funeral arrangements. I will always remember your kindness. My husband looked amazing and so peaceful. Thank you to the people who made it all happen. Everyone went above and beyond my expectations. Jonathan was the one in charge of my husband's service. He made sure to walk me through everything step by step with warmth and compassion. Love you all and the place was so perfect. Felt at peace from the moment I walked in. Beautiful service for my dad. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. My dad passed back in February 2021. They accommodated our entire family during covid restrictions. I highly recommend for a loved one's services. Very professional, very caring.

Started off well, but progressively got worse and very disappointed. When we first met with Chapel of the Light for services for my mom, our funeral director was very kind and talked us through the contract and options. We appreciated that he talked about her as “Mom” as if it was his too. He even told us their Pastor could speak at our service since we didn’t have one of our own. After that everything went downhill. After I made the payment and emailed and brought all the things needed/requested, I had to do a lot of chasing to get someone to call me back or respond to my emails. Every time I called our funeral director wasn’t available so we got the “he’ll have to call you back” but I’d still have to call back to get any answers. We were told that Pastor Pete would speak at our mom’s funeral service and he would call us to get to know our mom so he could plan what to say. We signed the contract on a Tuesday, the wake service was the next Wednesday night. We didn’t hear from Pastor Pete until Tuesday night before the wake (around 8pm). At that point we were so worried we would have not hung so my family prepared a speech that anyone could read. When Pastor Pete finally called we told him we had something prepared, both opening words speech and eulogy. He asked that we send him both- so I did right away. We didn’t hear from him again until the next evening a few hours before the wake service when he said he didn’t receive anything and gave us another email to send to. I immediately sent to that email. Still, no confirmation email or calls. He finally calls DURING the wake service- while my family is mourning my mother’s death (he knew when the wake service was). He tells us he will be at the funeral service the next day at 9:30am, when we told him we had our services scheduled at 9am! So we had to reorganize what we had originally planned to make the first hour of service yet another wake/viewing to accommodate him. The next day at the funeral service, my sister and I are pulled aside to help him- again when we are supposed to be mourning our mother. He tells us he got all the emails I sent and he just didn’t see them. He asked how to say some of the family names- I tell him but he takes no notes. When he finally speaks his opening words, he says all the names incorrectly despite just telling him 15 minutes ago. He reads almost exactly what we had prepared, only adding his own words by telling us how his family had their family reunion recently and how large the family reunion was and happy that made him to see all his family. My family and guests felt this was extremely rude almost boastful when we are clearly lost a family member. He also used this time to tell us all that our own time (I.e. death) will come and “by the way our world is, it’s probably sooner than later”. COMPLETELY inappropriate for a funeral service. When we finally head over to the cemetery, the funeral director asks Pastor Pete to say some closing words remarks. Pastor Pete loudly and clearly responds with “What am I supposed to say? I don’t have anything for that.” And the funeral director was heard saying “I don’t know just say anything”. And again Pastor Pete misspeaks all names again and even said my mom’s death month as her birth month. After all services were complete all we had left was the death certificate. Turns out the funeral home did not file/do the paperwork for the death certificate until almost two weeks AFTER the funeral and not until we called asking for a status update. The death certificate issue date is nearly a month after my mother’s death. While in the end my mother is resting peacefully, my family and I are not happy with how it all turned out. We felt we were treated merely as a cash cow and didn’t receive the care and thought other reviews speak of. We did not encounter anything like this with a different funeral home we used several years ago for my father.
