Our Mom passed away recently and these folks were wonderful. They helped us sort all the details. They were a class act and the atmosphere is beautiful and serene. We have used this funeral home for generations of family members. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My Mom looked so beautiful and at peace. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience during an extremely difficult time. Beyond grateful.

Loss is difficult but the experience of grieving can be compounded by the many rituals surrounding it. Sadly, the folks here were consistently rude, disparaging family member for standing in the hallways outside the main room, or reprimanding them for unknowningly bringing in a drink. My own experience was with what should be common in all funeral homes, which is basic understanding of to have family collect and send photographs for display during the showing and wake. As a photographer I do this all the time and to have issues such an a decades old disagreement between a PC and a Mac seems illiterate. Yet the folks here were 1st annoyed when I asked for my photographed to be included in the slideshow, then they returned them to me with a picture of a screen error, I reformatted the disk a third time to MS-FAT and still they can back with a vague screenshot as proof the files were incompatible. Effectively erasing large parts of my father’s life that included our family. We had no instructions whatsoever but were always wrong. This can all be fixed with a google drive where families can upload images themselves. I should say there were times they were polite but not when collecting the body or dealing with the families.

My family recently lost our father. My mother and father were married for 69+ years. In my 65 years, I have been to many funeral parlors and I can say, without a doubt, that the professionalism, accommodations, compassion and organization of Brueggemann’s staff was wonderful. They made a very challenging time less painful and we were all able to truly celebrate the life of our father, husband, uncle, mentor and friend. The mass at the Church and 45 minute processional to the cemetery was handled with solemnity and precision. We felt we were guided gently through the process without being rushed or pushed. There was reason to be pushed because of the inclement weather and the funeral following behind us at the church. However, we were shielded from all of those concerns. The staff also collected all of the planters, flowers, pictures and mementos together so that we only needed to pick them, as well as thank you notes up the following day. In addition, they presented my mother with a lovely remembrance piece of my father.
