I started the sad task of finding a funeral home with a google search. Most of the reviews preceding this one were positive so I made an appointment to visit Farenga in Astoria. All the positive reviews were absolutely true. John, one of the funeral directors and my primary contact treated us with kindness, compassion and understanding during this difficult time. I never felt pressured to purchase up, which was my previous experience with another funeral home. John arranged all the details and ensured the day went smoothly. I haven’t had many funeral home experiences, but this one was as stress-free as possible and fitting tribute to honor my mom’s memory and a wonderful celebration of her life. Farenga team is one of the most professional yet very thoughtful, kind, and compassionate funeral homes. When my god-father passed, my head was completely unfocused. I sought for funeral homes but had no idea what to expect nor where to start especially when I couldn’t even think straight. Many funeral homes brushed me off for the basic questions and refused to guide me through the process unless I’ve put down the money on the table. I had the privilege to gain support from John Diakogeorgios at Farenga, who not only provided a step-by-step proceeding but never rushed me to make any decisions. He was always there to answer questions via phone or text, even for the most ridiculous questions. During our in-office appointment, I broke down into tears suddenly. He did not rush into business, but offered me comforting words, a box of Kleenex, and his own time on a Saturday afternoon. My god-mother and I had many requests for the ceremony and cadences, of which he accommodated with confidence and care. The ceremony/visitation was very organized and smooth. He was there to support never to overwhelm but when he knew it was necessary. I truly appreciate how professionally and politely John and Farenga supported through one of the toughest moments in life. It is a great comfort to know that there are people who truly care with compassion. Thank you very much, Farenga family & team.

My family and I will be forever grateful for the incredible service provided by Gus this past March after the tragic loss of my nephew.
