I knew my husband's passing was eminent when his status at the nursing home changed to hospice care. I began reaching out to funeral homes a couple days after being notified. John Alloway was the only funeral director that responded to my online inquiry about cremation services. He replied to me on a Wednesday and I planned to get in touch with him via telephone to confirm our business relationship that following Monday. Sadly, my husband passed on Saturday, just three days after John replied to my online inquiry. I had yet to speak to him. The nurse supervisor at the nursing home was ready to call another funeral home, the one they typically utilized to retrieve the deceased. I asked her to allow me to get in contact with John Alloway to inquire if he remembered our online communication and if so could he handle my husband's cremation arrangements. John's assistant answered my call and quickly transferred my call to John. John, in fact did remember my email inquiry, offered his condolences and asked how he could help. I told him I wanted to use Alloway Funeral Home for cremation services. John took some information about my husband and asked if he was ready to be picked up. I said yes. After contacting several family members I reached back out to the nursing home. Alloway Funeral Home had already picked my husband's body up. This gave me comfort, knowing my husband wasn't still at the nursing home. John called me the following day. I answered questions to help him expedite the cremation process. It was taken care of within days of my husband's passing. I made an appointment to pick up his remains and the Death Certificates just a week after my husband passed. When we arrived, John invited me and my daughter into the funeral home. He explained a few important details and asked if we had any further questions. I planned to have my husband's remains put in a nicer urn but hadn't received it yet. John offered to transfer my husband's ashes into that urn when it arrived. Throughout this difficult process, John remained courteous, professional and prompt. THANK YOU John! My daughter and I are forever grateful to you.

Flew in from Miami for a viewing of my aunt and left feeling like my family wasn’t welcomed by the decrepit Karen that works there, I don’t know what her issues are but she needs to work on her communication skills with people. Speaking forcefully to children who accidentally wandered into a “private” section and then giving attitude to the men who ask simple questions. If she didn’t want to host our family then she should have said so instead of angering people who were there to grieve the loss of a wonderful woman. Every other staff member was wonderful but whoever the older lady is she needs some serious work.

My dad passed away December 2018 and arrangements for cremation were made through Alloway Funeral home the first week of January 2019. I have yet to receive his death certificate (today's date is 10/3/19) and have reached out many times, but it is always an answering service. It also took about 6 weeks to receive his ashes, and that was after me reaching out several times. At this point I just want his death certificate so I can finalize his affairs.
