Andy, at Affordable Burial & Cremation Services on Dessau Rd. in Austin, TX first assisted my family with my Grandmother’s funeral arrangements. He did such a great job that we used him again with my Dad’s cremation services. Andy was very caring and professional and took the time to communicate with us to make sure things were on track. We lived out of the state and had to get everything done before the summer break ended. Please DO NOT cremate your loved one here, My wife passed away this year and due to are financial situation and the wishes of my wife I went with Affordable Cremation and burial due to the lower price, it was a mistake that caused me more heartache then I was already suffering. The first issue was a clear lack of communication, I found myself having to call them every two day just to get basic information. This was my first time having to arrange a cremation, and the staff answering the phone couldn't care less to assist me in anyway. I called to ask questions and all I got was "the funeral director will call you back today or tomorrow" which never happened.After being sent a online catalog of Urns and keepsakes I emailed the company what the family had selected which was multiple keepsakes. I wasn't sure if I had done this correctly so I called them on a Monday, got told they would call me back, called wedsday the same thing happened, Friday I called and at this point was extremely upset, I demanded to know what was going on just to find out that they were waiting on me to email a confirmation to my email of the selected keepsake Urns which could have been told to me the other times I had called. They promised to get it priority shipped due to how long they where taking, a promise never fulfilled. After a week and a half after that I get a phone call that my wife was ready to come home, but they didn't get all the keepsakes that I had selected, heart broken I asked why I was just hearing about this the day of pickup and why I wasn't informed sooner, which they replied that they didn't know until now. I still don't understand how you wouldn't know that a urn was missing until the lost moment, in my opinion this is a lie or Affordable cremation and burial does not double check if a order is correct until the last possible moment. Making this worst is the missing keepsake was for my Wife's daughter. They said they would "find a keepsake for us" after I angryly asked if I was supposed to give my step daughter her mom in a plastic bag? It took weeks for the missing keepsake to come. My wife passed July 14 2024, we did not get her home until August 21st. I had to pull teeth to get any help and guidance in the worst time of my life from anyone at Affordable Cremation and burial. The staff was unwilling to call me back or help answer any of my concerns. It caused undo stress and pain that no one should suffer during such times. If you care about getting your loved one home in a timely and respectful manner do not send them here.

The wonderful folks here took care of my Daddy with the utmost dignity, care, and love . In a word :Wonderful people. Death is truly amazing and leaves one more than thunderstruck. Loss is deeper than what the word can convey. If you're reading this today my heart is with you and let God carry you now through the process of grieving. One of the last duties my sister and I got to do for our daddy was to see his earthy body looked after. We were able to give my father that here without breaking the bank. Losing a loved one is staggering and being faced with the cost of cremation or other burial services is overwhelming. But affordable burial and cremations truly takes the sting out of having to worry how you can pay for everything especially when you are of modest means. First, I want to give a huge shout out to Andy. He worked with my sister and I throughout the whole process. Andy is the type of person who listens with real empathy, compassion, and has become part of family. God sent the right person at the right time. Andy is definitely made for the caring for our loved ones . He has a real tender heart and passion for his job. My daddy was handled with care and dignity. Everything my daddy had in his person from jewelry to his wallet was all given to us. I share this just to say The people working here were real honest folks. Furthermore, they handled unforeseen circumstances with patience and professionalism when dealing with some difficult personalities among extended family members as they grieved. Mr. Falcon also worked with my sister and I as we dealt with getting together the finances we needed to take care of my Daddy. God is so very good. The prices for cremation are as listed on the website. We didn't have hidden fees or anything like that. Communication was good and this is a small family run Business. They made every effort to get back to me the next day and to return my calls. I highly recommend this place especially because of Andy( wonderful human being)and how the staff looked after my father while he was in their care as well as working alongside my sister and I in our time of grief.
