They came to Lyndon to purchase the Shaffer Mortuary from Lawerence and Clare Shaffer who had owned and operated the funeral home for several years at the Topeka Avenue location. In 1967 Marvin and Mary Ann added Marty to the family and they owned and operated Feltner Funeral Home for the next 30 years until their retirement in December of 1996. They also owned and operated Marv's Furniture/Carpets/Variety Store a block south of the funeral home. After retirement, Marvin farmed and raised cattle. He passed away on October 21, 2006. Mary Ann continued to help with the funeral home until she passed away on August 18, 2013. Their sons Mike and Marty purchased the funeral home upon their retirement, and continue to provided the community and families with the same respect, dignity, and professionalism, that they have come to expect.
