It was the funeral of my best friends' father- a complicated man who departed far too soon. The funeral was superb, not a single tear in the room because we were all enjoying the hilarious eulogies and stories that the family had prepared, knowing that their father, son, chef, soldier, and mailman would've wanted it that way. Those perfect parts of the funeral, however, were only those coordinated by the family of the deceased. Although the funeral home itself was quite beautifully classy (and I loved their swan lamps), I can't say that I'm pleased with the pastor/preacher/minister/pope/reverend/bishop/whatever the hell he self-identifies as. I've known this family for more than a decade, and I know they personally requested a MINIMALLY religious service- so imagine how far my jaw dropped when the aforementioned clergy said, "I didn't know [the deceased], so I really can't tell you if he's in heaven or hell right now. . ." Are you kidding me? Be better, and in the future, try not to take such a deeply formative day in the lives of surviving family and make it into a "repent, or burn for eternity" lecture to those who didn't want it. I was actually going to tell a story but felt unwelcomed to as it involved me first meeting the man who passed away and him realizing I was gay and wouldn't break his daughter's heart- I'm sure the pastor would've had a tangent for that too. Also, not to mention, after all of the rambling, they began taking down the service display before the daughters of the departed had gotten a chance to take pictures of his Army-engraved urn. Jenna and Taylor, you guys put the "fun" in funeral and "serve" in service- these three stars are for you girls.

In our families time of sorrow, they were excellent. Bill did an amazing job from start to finish. The service was amazing, staff was great. We lost my brother and 15 year old niece in a car accident, there’s still a lot of pain, staff carried some of it for us, thank you!

Their new location is awesome and well run. I recently attended a funeral here for my late Aunt Dorothy on Thursday 6/18/2020 and they did a superb job. They even provided me an absence excuse proof I was here for a family member's funeral-so I could have my paid bereavement day off from work.
