I just wanted to say thank you to Maureen at Wanamaker. My mom passed in 2018 and from that moment on Maureen and the staff at Wanamaker’s have supported my needs through the passing of my best friend, my aunt, and my dad. They handled my mom’s services exactly as she wanted. As for my other losses anything I needed from another state I could call and they helped. I’ve even placed orders for things that they helped fulfill. Thank you for being there, you went above and beyond this week.

The staff was very professional and they made the overall experience as good as possible. My utter disappointment regards their handling of the payment. Despite my providing a credit card to pay for the services, they deemed me to be delinquent and the account was provided to a debt collection service. At not time did they ever contact me to inform me of any problem. When I contacted them to discuss this issue, they never returned my calls. Customer service on the business side is definitely lacking

My mother prepaid for her arrangements in 2006. She died April 2024. Her money was supposed to be put into an interest bearing account. We were not provided with any statements since 2015, at which time she had accumulated over $1,000 in interest. The funeral home was unwilling or unable to provide us with recent statements, instead they handed us a homemade spreadsheet with only 3 lines on it and no interest showing at all. Very unprofessional. We actually had to consult with an attorney and have her deal with the funeral home on our behalf. The funeral director, Martin Beck , actually told my sister and I that "we could not expect him to work for free". He repeated this on 3 different occasions. Very unprofessional and insincere way to speak to a grieving family. All of this was AFTER my mother had PREPAID for her complete services. My family and I DO NOT RECOMMEND WANAMAKER AND CARLOUGH FUNERAL HOME for your beloved family member.
