In service to its neighbors for over 100 years, Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home is proud of its community heritage. Willard B. Walrath founded W.B. Walrath & Company in 1911. John Stewart began his career with the business in 1978, became a Licensed Funeral Director in 1982, and eventually purchased Walrath & Bushouer, Inc. in 1992. John continues to serve as an active Funeral Director as well as Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home's General Manager. He was a 1975 graduate of Gloversville High School and Hudson Valley Community College in 1981. In 2004, he and his partners merged their five businesses to form Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart Family Funeral Homes. Under John's care, Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home continues to provide dignified personal service to its community with the traditional values passed down through generations of service.

Stacy Vertucci is awesome!!! She jumped in to help my fiance and I when we got the call my dad passed away late at night. I had a preplan contract with mcveigh in Albany NY who were very rude. We had called a couple of others in Gloversville, but got great vibes from Stacy, she called us back immediately. She didn't try to sell us on her services, she just talked to us like friends. So we decided to go with this place based on Stacy Vertucci. She gave us her cell phone number, kept in touch daily. Walked us through the entire process gently. Even after we've received the cremains she's kept in touch

I've personal attend several services here over the past 20 plus years and I can say without a doubt that the are the most professional group you'd every want to deal with in your time of grief. Their establishment is absolutely beautiful, which features a stunning 100 plus year old stair case. They also have two chapels for extra accommodation. The second chapel has a viewing screen as to see the same thing the main chapel is seeing and hearing. A++ Very caring and knowable staff
