Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey went above and beyond for my family during such a difficult time. From the moment we walked in, it was clear they truly cared about our well-being, putting the emotions of losing a loved one above the business side of things. I want to especially thank Shana McDaniel, who stepped up to ensure everything went smoothly and according to plan. She put so much care into how my sister looked—from her makeup to her dress—it was all perfect, just as we had hoped. Shana’s attention to detail and genuine compassion meant the world to us, and I can’t thank her enough for everything she did. I wholeheartedly recommend Slay Memorial to anyone needing their services. They are truly exceptional.

The only person here who was attentive and respectful to me was the owner. He took care of my family and I when my mother passed last year from cancer, and I only have wonderful things to say about him. Everyone else I came into contact with was found wanting. He told me to come back in when they had my mom’s thumb prints to get jewelry made, and whoever was there should help me and make it easy. I have no doubt that if it had been him helping me, that would have been the case. I look alternative- dyed hair, piercings, tattoos- and when I came back in to have said jewelry ordered, I was pushed to do it myself online and when I insisted that I would like their help I was met with huffing and a bad attitude. That attitude only changed when my payment for the expense went through. He seemed very happy to get me out the door. This was by a heavier set, greyed older gentleman. I was met with the same attitude when I went in to sign for and pick up the death certificates and thumb print codes, by a different female employee. The only pleasant interactions I had with them were on the phone when they could not see me. By all means, if you need to use Slay, do so. But insist on the owner, and come back later if he isn’t there.

Working with Terri Slay and the entire team was a beautiful experience. They made this experience easeful as we worked through insurance, writing my Dad’s obituary, the visitation and memorial arrangement, and cremation. Death Certificates were ordered and handed to me promptly. And we were graciously guided through this difficult process with clarity and compassionate calm each step of the way. Additionally, I am grateful for the memento of my dad’s finger prints that were delivered to me after I returned to my home out of state. Thanks y’all!
