On Monday Nov 15, 2021 our family met at Roselyn Funeral Home to place the ashes of our beloved Mother in the mausoleum. The family spent nearly an hour setting up the niche which included several religious items that had special meaning to the family. All of the items were carefully selected and were of high quality. The niche was closed by Roselawn employees prior to the family departing. The following morning we stopped by for a visit prior to heading back back home out of state. Upon seeing the niche we discovered four items had been removed without our knowledge or consent which caused my wife to suffer immediate emotional distress. Upon talking with staff we were told we were limited to five items to avoid having the niche look “junked” up. We we never told we were limited to five items. We consider the items removed to be sacred personal affects and that the niche to be hollowed space. The staff was argumentative and unapologetic. At the very least we should have been consulted first in an attempt to reach a resolution agreeable to both parties. Our family feels violated and this has added undue stress on top of the grief of losing a loved one. Attached is a picture of the niche as we left it Monday afternoon.

If I could give less than a 1 star rating, I would! My daddy's funeral was 2/4/21 & we have been through the ringer with the management ever since. They make promises they do not keep, lie straight to your face, make numerous excuses, are extremely rude & argumentative. We had confirmation that my daddy was buried in the wrong grave, which is where my mother is supposed to be buried when her time comes. They moved his headstone over without our permission & claimed that it was placed wrong to begin with. THAT IS A LIE! Ms. Hernandez then claimed to have changed the ID number on the graves & still needed to update the paperwork. She guaranteed it would stand up in court. She was supposed to send my mother new paperwork for her records with "the correct" grave number, in which she has never received. My mother is 80 years old & has been extremely upset about this. She is scared to pursue this in court because she fears that the legal fees will cost her the home my daddy built for them & she would lose everything. Roselawn has taken advantage of my mother's vulnerable state & her age. My brother & I have tried meeting with Ms. Hernández to no avail. She struck out at us & denied any wrong doing. We will honor our mother's wishes & not pursue this further, but someday, Ms. Hernandez will come face to face with God & be held accountable for all the ways she has wronged my family & others in our community. There is so much more to say about this, but it is too detailed, lengthy & upsetting to go into.

Deborah the so called manager at this place threatened to cancel my grandmothers burial because of the fact I questioned them about charging a vault fee. My grandfather back in 2018 purchased his and my grandmothers plots and paid in full. There was nothing in the contract about a vault fee. They made him pay a $210 vault fee. They would not refund or listen to anything or even review the contract. We moved my grandmothers service. They are disgusting and unethical. Everyone needs to report them to the attorney general, the funeral home fraud department and check on the civil suits they have against them. I’m appalled that a funeral company tries to take advantage of people during a difficult time. Shame on you all!!!
