This has been the most difficult time in my life. My beautiful mother passed away May 14, 2024. There is not enough words to describe the outstanding service that R.G Ortiz Funeral Home, 235 West 72nd. Street in Manhattan provided me during this very sad time. I will always be grateful!

Horrible service, the lady of Latino decent kicked us out saying we couldn’t afford the service so we had to leave. In the difficult time we are going through of the loss of a family member she went out of her way to discriminate us without any information of what we could afford or anything. Just by looking at us. I hope no one has to go through what we went through so please avoid this place at any cost. And to the lady that turned us away I hope you don’t ever do this to another person.

My wife’s Father passed on March 19, 2021. Arrangements were made for viewing services on March 22, 2021 at Ortiz Funeral Home at 72nd Street location in Manhattan. She and her brother worked closely with Pilar who was Professional and very experienced. The Service was beautiful while practicing CDC Guidelines. The only one thing that went wrong was that the “Priest” was a no show. Luckily, we had a Family friend that led the prayers. On the day of the burial, March 23, 2021, the Funeral Director and the Limo Driver were Professional, Excellent and Compassionate, and led the Proceedings every step of the way! Both vehicles drove by her Dad’s place of work as well as his residence in close proximity of each other. Stopped at the building to place some of the roses with his prayer card (nice unexpected touch and surprise). They led the entire service once we all arrived at St. Raymond’s Cemetery. Also, we were able to view the casket being lowered as well as witnessing the Cemetery Workers resealing the plot while the Limo Driver waited patiently! Excellent experience minus the Priest.
