Definitely a -10 rating, but it wouldn't let me continue with my review without choosing a star. Extremely poor experience with this funeral home. Very unprofessional and rude. Lied to us many times as to when they were mailed, then lied to the post office when shipping remains and told them it was shoes.....yes, shoes! They did not send them express mail or have the label 139 on the box which indicated that it was human remains (both of which are required). We were charged $50 for shipping; however, they paid only $18.50 due to not shipping the way that is required by law. I would not recommend using this funeral home at all. I was actually hung up on when I told them they would be getting a poor review due to the way we have been treated. We have left several messages and emails trying to get answers from them with no response. The funeral director will not even talk to us regarding our concerns. Being from out of state, our hands were kind of tied during a very difficult time. Definitely wish we would have done more research regarding this funeral home prior to choosing them to take care of our loved one when he passed.

If 0 stars were possible they would get it. Rude and uncooperative on even the simplest level. One man forgot his name was rude to almost everyone and had everyone wanting to say something but didn’t to keep the peace. If you cannot handle constantly being understanding and gentle this should not be your profession. Walmart is hiring, a lot of places are this is the final step in saying goodbye to loved ones and you play a huge part.

2020 was so devastating to us all. My best friend and husband for 30 years left me. It was THE MOST traumatizing experience I ever had. Traumatizing due to no one understanding Covid. not being able to sit and hold your loved one hands while they are transitioning. No family to come by and console you because of Quarantining. Penn-Orr Funeral Home gave me some peace. They did everything they promised plus more considering we're in the early stages of Covid. Their concern and kindness were just what I needed. I was lost, confused, devastated, overwhelmed, and just didn't have the strength or mind set to do what needed to be done.
