If ever there was a family that needed Parkway to stand behind their money back guaranty, the Hamilton family does. While the death of a loved one is always difficult, you would at a minimum expect empathy from the funeral staff, but not at Parkway Funeral Home. The body was so poorly prepped the family had no choice but to do a closed casket. The lights in the chapel were flickering. The air ducts did not look like they had been cleaned in five years. The technology is so outdated they could not play a video the family had requested. The staff said to put it on a DVD and we can play it. So we bought a DVD writer, burned a DVD, played the DVD at home to make sure it worked. The file was written in both .wmv and .mp4. When that did not work the staff decided it needed to be a .mov file, however, that did not work either. The microphone for the speakers was not loud enough for the speaker to be heard. No one could hear the words or music to the songs. For the slideshow of pictures to be displayed during viewing, the staff at Parkway said to send them pictures and they would put a slideshow together, they never bothered to say it would be limited to 15 or 20 pictures. Family had requested the jewelry not be buried with the body, even signed the agreement that it would be returned before the burial but guess what, not at Parkway. They had to exhume the body the following day because they had buried the jewelry with the body. Now let's talk about the graveside service: The grounds maintenance crew was standing around watching and rushing the family away from the graveside. While family was still standing around the coffin, the crew moved the tent, and before the family had left the graveside the crew was already filling the grave. The funeral was at 12pm and this was around 1:15 that they were rushing the family off. The crew was staring at us like a hawk would stare at its prey. Mr. Hamilton's daughter passed away several years ago and they bought a family plot. One would think that out of respect for the family they would set up the chairs and tent in a way that it would not cover his daughter's grave. Not at Parkway, they removed the vase of flowers that was on the daughter's grave and set chairs on top of it. May family members wanted to show their respect, visit the grave, and see the daughter's tombstone but they could not because the grave was covered with chairs. I realize part of the business is selling prearranged funeral plans, but do you really have to have the yard signs lined all the way down the road to the graveside? That was TACKY, and inconsiderate. Other details are left out, but this review was getting too long. Maybe the staff is new, maybe the management is new, or maybe they had too many funerals. Either way, they did not provide the service that was expected. I would not recommend their services to anyone!

She was able to meet a deadline on the weekend for a newspaper obit that I didn’t anticipate and was overjoyed about ! Thank you for an excellent experience with Rendi’s help.
