Bill and Lucy are a class act! From beginning to end, they’ve made the process of arranging plans to lay our loved one to rest with compassion, grace, professionalism, and expert level of care. I really appreciate their lighthearted approach that made my mom and I feel so at ease during this difficult time. Lucy took us in for a tour of the funeral home and provided us with a lot of information at a moments notice. Lucy is welcoming, funny, and made my mom and I feel safe and informed about options and pricing. She listens to needs, concerns, and also shared a little of her background that reassured us that we are in good hands. It turns out Lucy is from 4 generations of Funeral Home care, and you could tell with her tactful demeanor. She even shared some anecdotes that explained that there’s no wrong way to do things, and that whatever we wanted was the perfect thing to do. We had it in our minds to tour 3 different funeral homes, but after meeting with Lucy, decided we wanted our loved one in their care and didn’t need to see more places. Misencik is a comfortable place with a sizable visitation room that held a very large number of family and friends. There are other sitting areas as well for those who might have a harder time seeing their passed loved one, but still want to be present. There’s also a small lounge in the front where they had a fresh brewed pot of coffee with all the sweeteners and cream, and a fresh water dispenser. They also keep plenty of tissues throughout which is very helpful. When Bill realized our turnout was bigger than expected, he started bringing out more seating, cracking some jokes to my relatives and bringing smiles. Bill is a rockstar! My mom and I may have been a tad neurotic at times during the planning and leading up to the day, needing to check details to make sure this important event was going to honor our loved one the best way possible. He is very understanding and allowed us the opportunity to check in, in ways that reassured us. Bill was very available and compassionate to our concerns. My mom and I really appreciate Bill’s levity in some instances when we really needed it. Bill and Lucy just have this ability to read people and situations, and knew when humor could be appropriate and that we were receptive to it. Our loved one was prepared and presented respectfully and beautifully. It’s hard to describe, but seeing him so peaceful was a remedy for the unfortunate way he passed. It helped us feel better closure. I couldn’t imagine having a better experience, considering the circumstances. I actually had guests say to me afterwards “this was the best funeral I’ve been to” which might be a bit odd because funerals are not fun. But I’m in complete agreement. My family, friends, and Misencik funeral home really co-created an incredible, sacred, beautiful send off for our loved one that authentically conveyed his funny, loving spirit. I am beyond grateful for my brother to have been in such amazing care. Thank you Bill and Lucy.

Everyone there did a great job. The staff was amazing and very professional. They made my mother in law look exactly like the picture we gave them. We will highly recommend Misenciks to everyone.

We are from out if state and needed to arrange funeral services for family that had lived in avon lake. Could not have had any better services and the friendliness. Highly recommend them.
