I accompanied my sister to this family-run business when she needed to make arrangements for her husband a few years ago. When my mother recently died, I felt Michalik Funeral Home would be right for her service and burial. Because of the timing of her death, between Christmas and New Year, as we tried to begin the church plans on our own there were just messages to be returned from the church director, but as we walked in to prepare the details at Michalik, we found Josh, funeral director had already been working behind the scenes to hold a date and time for us with my mother’s church, made phone calls immediately to work out complications before we were even finished with the consultation (church service in Chicago, burial in St. Louis). Delphine and Josh are absolute professionals with many years in this business. I highly recommend choosing Michalik’s if you want to make sure all details are covered and the service is seamless in implementation. My mother’s service was beautiful and we as mourners were lead through our parts by a sympathetic and dignified owner and director.

In September my mother died of cancer. It was a very difficult time and I had never planned a funeral before and was dreading it, but Josh Michalik and Katie (the mortician) made it so easy. They handled everything from beginning to end. My brother had made a lot of the decisions before my mother passed but then I stepped up and wanted to change things a bit and Josh and Katie could not have been more patient and helpful with the details. And there was never an attempt to sell us on more expensive options; it was actually quite the opposite. I highly recommend Michalik Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism.
